Man and information in modern society

Sages say: "Who owns knowledge, he owns the world!" This thesis with the same success can be applied to obtaining information in modern human society. Today, people and information are closely related. And here the rule works well: who first learned, he won, and who with delay - lost.

Person and information

Knowing the surrounding, people are always in touch with the information field. Initially, at the first stage of interaction, information is absorbed and collected. This helps (and sometimes forces) to correctly evaluate the events taking place in society and the world. So, at the second stage of the interaction, the data are analyzed, their qualitative brain processing. And then a personal opinion is developed, a judgment about what is happening. As a result, the person and the information received by him, maximally merge, acquiring a personal aspect.

Origin and meaning of the word

The very concept of "information" comes from the Latin word information (explanation, mixing). This concept is a general scientific category, in which there are many definitions and interpretations. If we do not go deep into the discrepancies, then we can say that in everyday life information is identified with the information received, knowledge in the oral, visual, written, electronic form (nowadays universal computerization). Information in human life plays an important role. For example, it allows you to increase the level of knowledge on a particular issue of interest to an individual. And the exchange of information forms a more comprehensive picture of the subject of the discussion.

Information in human life

Owning information from ancient times was considered the lot of the elect. It's no secret that in some of the oldest communities, the common people were not allowed to study or everything was done to make knowledge of the city difficult to access. Priests and high priests, monks in secret monasteries, hermits, hermits, concealed information from commoners in every possible way, not allowing them to enter the holy of holies.

Today, a person in the world of information accesses relatively freely to any source of interest. Openness of information is one of the basic conditions of a free society. This is directly connected with the development of the World Network, which encircles all continents of the globe. Man and information in the material world of modernity are interconnected much more closely than in previous eras. And any average citizen of a free country has the right to free access: sewing in a sack can not be concealed!

Mass media

In the current social society, the most important role for a person is played by the media. With their help, people learn about major and minor events in the field of science, culture, politics, and other industries. In the beginning, these were newspapers and radio, which published articles and told in an oral form what had happened. Then TV appeared as a powerful lever, affecting many minds so far. After, with the development of the Internet - electronic media, which can be safely called truly massive: some articles and videos are gaining millions of views, which means that they were used by a great many people in many countries of the world.

Value and properties

In our fast-moving world, which is not accidentally called the age of information, much depends on it: the development of society, economic and political, the very life of people, their safety and health. Analyzing the properties of information obtained from various sources (as a rule, experienced journalists, for example, use a minimum of three confirmed ones), correspondents assess its clarity, relevance at this stage, utility for society, ethical, authenticity. And in different situations, different properties of the same data come to the fore. For example, a news broadcast on TV should contain a maximum of authenticity and relevance about the events of today or the past week. A popular science article in an electronic newspaper contains a maximum of useful and interesting information, confirmed by scientific data.

In today's world, the concepts of "man" and "information" are as close as possible. One can say that without information there is no modern man, and without a person there is no information that is processed, published and analyzed by people!
