Lugol with angina is an effective remedy

Recently, pharmacies have appeared an abundance of a wide variety of medicines for the treatment of throat diseases, which at the same time have a fairly high price. But "Lugol" with angina , tonsillitis and other diseases of the throat has been effectively used for many decades and at the same time it is inexpensive.

This agent is a solution of iodine in an aqueous solution of potassium iodide. It is used mainly, externally, but can also be prescribed for oral administration. Take twice a day for 5-10 drops. They lubricate the mucous membranes of the larynx and throat. The structure includes:

- 1 part iodine;

- 17 parts of water;

- 2 parts of potassium iodide.

The most commonly used for treatment of throat diseases are "Lugol with glycerin". It consists of:

- 1 part - iodine;

- 3 parts - water;

- 2 parts - potassium iodide;

- 94 parts - glycerin.

This solution is also used to lubricate the larynx and throat membranes. It has strong antimicrobial properties.

As a rule, one of the first signs of almost any catarrhal disease is a sore throat. This is because pathogenic bacteria, penetrating into the mouth of a person, begin to actively multiply on the walls of the pharynx. The products of the life of bacteria, deposited on the mucous membrane, penetrate into the tissues of the body and poison the blood. At this moment, a total disease of the body occurs, which is accompanied by nausea, pulling pains in the muscles, high fever, headache. For this reason, arresting the disease at its early stage allows for faster cure for the common cold and with fewer complications.

Some people think that "Lugol" is ointment. In fact, the properties of a good lubrication of the tissue appear in the solution only due to the presence of glycerin in it. This drug, despite its low cost, allows for effective treatment of the disease at its earliest stages. "Lugol" with angina and other Habolevanians of the throat not only destroys the already existing pathogenic microorganisms in the oral cavity, but also hinders the development of other bacteria.

Despite the fact that there are different opinions about whether it can be used by pregnant or lactating women, most experts say that since daily consumption of iodine in everyday life is negligible, the use of this iodine solution will not lead to its overdose. The remaining components of the drug are completely safe for any organism. "Lugol" with angina can be used to treat children and adults.

Treatment of the mucous membrane with this drug is permissible only if there is no feeling of dryness in the mouth.

Sometimes an aqueous solution is used to purify the body, gradually adding it to drinking water. Its use is recommended for pregnant women. Do not exceed the dosage. For 100 ml of water (boiled) add 1 drop of solution (on body weight up to 70 kg). Women, whose weight exceeds 70 kg, should add 2 drops of solution. Drink this solution no more than 2 times a week before meals. The course of admission is 5-6 weeks.

Recently, in pharmacies appeared "Lygol-Spray", produced in a 50 ml vial with an applicator. For 1 ml it accounts for 12.5 mg of iodine. It also contains glycerol and potassium iodide.

Assign this form of the drug "Lugol" with angina, purulent otitis, atrophic ulcers, chronic tonsillitis, varicose ulcers, infected burns, chemical and thermal burns, wounds, atrophic rhinitis. For oral administration is prescribed for the treatment of atherosclerosis and tertiary syphilis.

Contraindications for use are: sensitivity to iodine, pulmonary tuberculosis, nephrosis, nephritis, furunculosis, adenomas, acne, diatheses, chronic pyoderma, urticaria.

It is undesirable to use the solution for children under 5 years of age. Despite all the positive properties of this remedy, one should not get carried away with frequent lubrication of the mucous membrane of the throat, as this can lead to the degeneration of its tissues under prolonged exposure to iodine.
