Lipetsk Air Center - School of Combat Excellence

Lipetsk Air Center is a subdivision of the Russian aerospace forces, whose mission is to retrain flight and technical personnel, introduce advanced techniques and develop aerobatic complexes in combat units.

At the origins of the Luftwaffe

It was a mystery to find a German training and testing association in Lipetsk from 1925 to 1933 with the mediation of the Air Force of the Red Army. Here, the material part was examined, the flight equipment was checked. The pilots of the Lipetsk air center were intensively trained. The work is classified, the cadets of the school dressed in the uniform of the rank-and-file Red Army men. The material part was acquired abroad and was delivered secretly to school. This was the responsibility of the German General Staff. The existence of the center contradicted the Versailles accords.

Preparing the cadres for the future Luftwaffe of the Third Reich. The methods of air combat, new developments in bombing were worked out, the latest types of weapons, optics and instruments were tested. Prepared 120 fighter pilots. The less information about the school, the more legends arose around it. Two were alive. This is what the city did not bomb during the war years. Establishment of a research association

The center was formed in 1949. Originally it was the training unit of the pilots of fighter aviation. Then there were associations with other courses, the enlargement of the structure, the change of places of deployment, until they finally stopped in the city of Lipetsk.

Aviation training and testing in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry continued. This research military unit carried out:

Achievements

The Center faithfully carried out the assigned tasks in the interests of the Air Force and the Defense Ministry. In 1992, the pilots of the scientific union flew for the first time to the Su-27 in the United States, three years later in experimental demonstration air battles with foreign colleagues came out the winners. Once there was a tragedy. At the crew of S. Sherstobitov and L. Krivenkova in flight, suddenly a fire occurred at first one, then another engine. After extinguishing the fire, it was necessary to sit down immediately. It happened over the city. At the cost of life, the pilots managed to take the car away to the outskirts of the village, the crew was killed. The plane had a full refueling and bombing load. You can imagine the consequences of the fall.

Heroes of Russia Lipetsk Air Center

The rank was given to six people: four are alive and working, and two died.

Chief of the Lipetsk Air Center Major-General S.S. Oskanov became the first. He was an experienced ace, a professional. When performing a test flight in February 1992, the equipment was abandoned, and the car began to fall on the settlement. The last list was replenished by lieutenant colonel Oleg Peshkov, who was treacherously beaten down in Syria. The pilot died, becoming the sixth.

In the fight against terrorism

Lipetsk Air Center gives practical experience to pilots on the MiG and Su models.

Aircraft of Russia during the operation in Syria inflicted hundreds of missile and bomb strikes. The jeweler's accuracy of hits is noted, which is ensured, in particular, with the help of the last Russian analytical complex "IL-20".
