Levada ... This melodic word has long been misleading the minds of Russian writers. After all, when they got used to one of its lexical forms, as it immediately, as if at the behest of a magic wand, it turned into a completely different concept. Time after time the meaning of the word "levada" eluded their inquisitive mind, teasing with its impermanence.

Years passed, it would seem, now Russian dictionaries should have put everything in its place. But it is worthwhile to look into them, and the same hour a thousand questions arise in my head. Modern levada is a paradise for horses

Now more and more often, levada is called special pens intended for walking horses. In practice, these are large plots of land, enclosed by a wooden or metal fence. On their territory, grass is often sown, so that the horse not only could have plenty of fun, but also eat fresh vitamins.

At the same time, it is necessary to understand the fact that horses are let out to the left only to rest from life in the pen. And then many horse breeders prefer to do without it, since not every one of them can acquire such a huge area of land.
