Biography

Leonid Nechayev is a director by profession. In 1967 he graduated from the corresponding faculty of VGIK. He worked in a creative association called "Screen". Death

Leonid Nechaev died in 2010, on January 23rd. It happened in Moscow. According to the version, which was announced in the media, the cause of death was a stroke. The daughter of the director Anastasia reported that death came from a hematoma that was formed after a head injury. The director was buried at the Domodedovo cemetery.

Awards

Plots

Leonid Nechaev began his professional career as a director with a picture called "Adventures in a city that does not exist." It's about a musical feature film, which tells about the joint adventures of the heroes of different books. The plot tells of the pioneer Slava Kurochkin. The boy actively studies astronomy and physics, but does not deal with fiction. It happens that he falls into a special city, where the heroes of the most famous books live: "Treasure Island", "Les Miserables", "The White Sail is White", "Timur and His Team", "The Snow Queen". However, the boy will meet not only positive characters, but also negative ones.

Another famous film directed by the director was "The Adventures of Pinocchio." This is a musical film consisting of two series. At the heart of the film is the fairy tale Golden Key by A. N. Tolstoy. The story is familiar to children and parents. The boy, who was carved out of logs, gets acquainted with the poor dolls of the Karabas-Barabas Theater. To help friends, he has to uncover the secret of a special golden key, which was presented to him by Turtle tortoise. The film had serious problems with censorship. After the completion of the filming, "Belarusfilm" refused to accept the musical, calling it "a horror and an ugly picture." The film was released on screens only because the end of the year was coming, and failure to implement the plan could result in deprivation of bonuses. There are several differences between the plot of the picture and the literary source. The golden key, which was shot in the picture, was purchased by the director himself.

"Thumbelina" is a musical feature film, based on Andersen's tale. This is the last work of Leonid Nechaev. The film received a large number of prizes at various film festivals. The plot of this tale is known to both children and adults. Thumbelina is a little girl who does not remember anything about herself. She only has a beautiful flower and a magical voice. Thumbelina has to go through many adventures. The girl will fall into the house of the Toad. She will have to spend the winter in the burrow of the greedy Mouse, and also face the unattractive queen of beetles. Among the real friends of the girl - good-natured Mole and little Zhabik.
