"Lenkom", "Lies for salvation": feedback from viewers

The Moscow State Theater Lenkom has been delighting the audience for more than 85 years with its unconventional productions, many of which are recognized as real masterpieces of Soviet and Russian theatrical art.

The opening of the next anniversary season was marked by the premiere of the performance "Lie to Salvation" by Gleb Panfilov. "Lenkom", reviews of which visit are often positive, and this time did not disappoint the theatergoers, especially since the most famous stars were shining on the stage. Even those who have seen the productions on the motives of A. Cason's drama "Trees are dying standing" have said that they discovered it from an entirely new angle. What is it that won the audience a spectacle?

Lenkom. "Lies for salvation": a plot

Gleb Panfilov changed not only the name of the play, but also completed several scenes. All events unfold around an elderly couple. They have an only grandson who once committed a serious offense, for which he was kicked out of the house by his grandfather. Since then, more than 20 years have passed, but my grandmother continues to wait for news from her grandson who left for Canada. Over time, the woman yearns for more, and the husband - Senor Balboa - starts sending her false letters. In them he painted the happy life of a grandson who was educated, married and achieved great success. Moreover, fearing that his lie for salvation will be revealed, the grandfather employs actors who must portray the grandson and his spouse who came to visit their beloved grandmother.

Thus, in the play a new scene appears in the office, where they sell "fairy tales for adults" and you can order performers for any role.

In the finale there is a real "bad" grandson, who wants to give him an inheritance. Grandma understands what's what, and turns him out. The young man is killed by unknown people, most likely because of the dark deeds that he was doing overseas. The elderly lady Balboa, bending over the body of a relative, forgives him and dies with him.

In the original play, there are no such tragic scenes. However, Panfilov, most likely, decided to strengthen the melodramatic effect, in order to prove that a lie is always bad.

Inna Churikova

Her creative and conjugal tandem with Gleb Panfilov has a long and successful history. Therefore it is not surprising that the performance ("Lenkom") "Lies for Salvation" was created precisely for Inna Churikova, who played in the theater. The Leninist Komsomol has many interesting roles.

The previous significant work of the actress was the image of Alienora Aquitaine, who, according to critics, she certainly did. The role of Eugene Balboa can also be attributed to her creative achievements. Suffice it to say that when discussing the production of "Lies for Salvation" (Lenkom), reviews primarily speak of the magnificent game Churikova. Especially impressive is the last monologue of Eugena, which she utters before her death. Churikova can so vividly portray the suffering of her grandmother, who saw how her grandson died, that many of those present in the hall barely restrain their tears. And it happens almost at every play!

"Lenkom" (reviews of many well-known artists allow us to say this with confidence) opened the door for many to a new life full of twists and turns, dramatic events and exciting love experiences, which are so rich in the stage ... At least, so critics and most of the theatergoers believe. He makes a worthy couple Inna Churikova and makes us believe in a real, high love between signora and signor Balboa, who justifies even a lie.

Having taken Rakov in the play, Panfilov gave his offspring a great modernity, as his "old men" are young and not at all like grandfather and grandmother, who usually were presented to the audience by other directors who staged the work of Alejandro Casona.

In any case, as already mentioned, almost all who decided to share their opinion on the new production of Lenkom celebrate Inna Churikova's magnificent game. Less enthusiastic testimonies sound to Viktor Rakov. Perhaps, it is difficult for the viewer to perceive the actor, who turned 53 years old, as an old man.

As for the young people involved in the production, the audience believes that this is not the best shift for the veterans, who are proud of Lenk.
