Kozlova Katerina - the hope of Ukrainian tennis

Katerina made the first steps in the tennis world at the age of five, when her father brought her to the court, Igor Kozlov. Dad, who works as a tennis coach, took up sports development and his daughter, leading her to serious world competitions an excellent fighter.

Beginning of Kozlova's career

In the youth, the sportswoman became the owner of a number of awards in various age categories, having felt in the course of becoming both the joy of loud victories and the bitterness of offensive defeats. In world tennis, Katerina's debut came in 2009. Having changed his mentor a few years earlier to Vladimir Bogdanov, who is still the coach of the tennis player, Katerina started to rise rapidly in the WTA rating.

First successes and achievements

The first major trophy Kozlova Katerina won in 2012 on one of its two favorite coverings, the ground. Ukrainka confidently overcame both rounds of qualification, then in a stubborn struggle reached the finals, where in three sets defeated the Argentine Molinero. For a long time to wait for the development of success did not have to - Kozlova Katerina, tennis which caused a lot of words of admiration, during 2012 she was able to win two more cups in the framework of ITF-tournaments - in Kazan and Kazakhstan's Shymkent. This success allowed the 18-year-old Ukrainian woman to fly into the TOP-200 of world tennis in singles.

The next year turned out to be slightly less successful for Kozlova: in two finals the Ukrainian struggled to the last to win, but the three-set fights in both cases ended in her favor. In 2014, Katerina added to her personal piggy bank another cup, German Forsmeld, who at the moment is the last in her career. Katerina tried herself in doubles and there she achieved good results, 13 times celebrating the victory in various ITF tournaments, but after 2014 the tennis player concentrated on a single game and practically did not take part in doubles tournaments.

Doping scandal and return to court

The most unpleasant in the career of Ukrainian was 2015. Despite the joy of the debut for the national team at the Fed Cup, in May the tennis federation decided to disqualify the tennis player for six months for using prohibited substances. Kozlova Katerina, whose suspension term ended in August of the same year, from the first meeting after her return, began to prove that this incident was an accident, and in the early summer of 2016 she entered the top 100 tennis players of the planet. Among them, it could hold out for more than 5 months, rising to 89th line of the rating for this time, but a small decline in the curtain of the year left it behind the first hundred by early 2017.
