What are LEDs?

Before considering common types of LEDs, we will study general information about the corresponding devices. The LED is a semiconductor that is able to convert an electric current into light. In this case, the semiconductor crystal, which is its main component, consists of several layers characterized by two types of conductivity. Namely - hole and electronic.
