K. Vorobiev, "They were killed near Moscow." Summary of the story

The most famous work of K. Vorobyov was the story "Killed near Moscow," a brief summary of which is given below. It describes the November events of 1941, when there were defensive battles for the capital.

To the front

A company of 240 Kremlin cadets led by Captain Ryumin is on the second day on the road. Young, healthy, all as a selection, they were preparing for feats. The front seemed to the guys something big, consisting of fire, reinforced concrete, human flesh. During the raids, all but the captain fell amicably. Ryumin, on the other hand, looked at the cadets, for whom he was an example for imitation. So begins K. Vorobiev story "Killed under Moscow".

The brief content of the campaign is complemented by the meeting with the special squad of the NKVD, located at the clade's rifle, the major of which, with a look of superiority, checked the documents and allowed them to follow in the direction of the battles.

On the distant approaches to the capital

They stopped at a small village, where they joined a regiment of militiamen. Dug in and prepared to meet with the enemy. Of weapons - only rifles, Molotov cocktails, grenades.

The fourth platoon was led by a young lieutenant Alexei Yastrebov, who still did not believe that he had been given the rank. In the new overcoat, he sensed his importance and tried in every possible way to resemble Ryumin.

A shock to the heroes of the story "Killed Near Moscow," the brief content of which you read, was a meeting with the troops leaving the encirclement: the cadets first saw a retreat from the front. The view of Major-General Pereverzev, who could not overcome the ditch, was especially shocking. To the question: "Where is the front?" - he replied: "Where are you?" Soon the captain realized that the Germans had broken through the defenses. At night the company was put on alert.

The first battles

In the morning, enemy planes appeared. In the fourth platoon came political instructor Anisimov, who remained for the time being bombarded. The psychological condition of the lieutenant and cadets who fell under the hail of mines, the description of the death of the political instructor and six other fighters that were the first of the platoon were killed near Moscow - a brief summary of the next chapter. First, Yastrebov wanted to hide, but after realizing what was happening there was a desire to stand up to the end.

Ryumin sent an intelligence report to the headquarters in the morning and received an oral order to retreat. But the captain did not trust the words. And the roar of tanks in the distance confirmed that the regiment was surrounded. The only correct decision for the captain now was the offensive. Burying the dead, the company began to prepare for an attack on the Germans occupied by the village.

Everything happened quickly: the cadets won a victory over the enemy taken by surprise. The author shows what is happening through the perception of Yastrebov. Pictures of death and the first murder of a German, a bustle in which no one understood anything, the joy that he had survived ... It was often noted how credible the feelings of the characters in the story were to K. Vorobyov.

"Killed near Moscow": a brief summary of the culmination and denouement

Encouraged cadets retreated to the forest. Here they were caught by enemy aircraft. Powerful shelling gave way to tanks and infantry.

In Aleksey, all fear was drowned out by the fear that caused him to jump into the funnel. There was a cadet who asked him to kill: better than a prisoner. The lieutenant suddenly realized how many deaths and how treacherous he had acted, only now remembering about the platoon. When they got out of the pit, Yastrebov did not want anything, and the body was a stranger.

Out of the fight came six, including Ryumin. Soon they approached the stacks where they met with the major. The next morning the captain shot himself, and they decided to bury him. At that moment tanks appeared. Cadets rushed to the rifle, which the enemy immediately destroyed. Alexei, who remained in the grave, set fire to one car. Having got out of the filled pit, he collected weapons and headed north-east. The desire to walk, the fear of meeting, the joy that is alive, and the hurt that no one saw, how he set fire to the tank, fatigue ... All these feelings were mixed, and the sobbing words "Bitch ... Thin ..." helped to go. The captain, three lieutenants, two hundred and forty cadets - so many fighters in five days were killed near Moscow.

The summary does not allow you to fully convey the horror of what is happening, so these books need to be read in full.
