In journalism, which appeared in the late 80's, there were a lot of interesting people, but few of them were able to maintain their handwriting and life position until today. Politkovskiy Alexander Vladimirovich is a rare example of preserving his creative individuality on a difficult journalistic path.

Ordinary childhood

In September 1953, a boy was born in Moscow in an ordinary family. Alexander Politkovskiy about his childhood says that it was the most common, with football in the yard, with absenteeism of the school, with books and movies. After the school of working young people, Alexander went into the army, postponing the choice of profession for two years.

Finding a profession

Returning from the army, Alexander Politkovskiy enters the television department of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. During the training, a novice TV-man gets acquainted with the basics of the profession, ties up acquaintances, gets first skills in practice.

Journalist Alexander Politkovskiy on distribution after the university comes to the Central Television in the main edition of sports programs. For four years he has to perform a variety of work, often to travel on business trips, to shoot a large number of stories. The routine work, which gave a good training and taught skill, took a lot of time and effort, but from it there was no return, there were no prospects. Therefore, Alexander Politkovskiy, whose biography (creative, of course) slowed down its development, our hero began to think about leaving television. He wanted to enter the highest director's courses: he had a dream to make his own movie. But he was offered to go to the editorial board of youth programs, which produced popular programs "Up to 16 and older", "12th Floor" and "Peace and Youth". At the last and moved Politkovskiy. Here he meets with people who will play a significant role in his life: E. Sagalaev, V. Mukusev, I. Kononov. In 1987, Eduard Sagalayev came up with a new program "Vzglyad", in which he invited Alexander Politkovskiy. The program was a perfect new format for the then television, its hosts instantly became celebrities, including Alexander Politkovskiy. Photos of the characters appeared in the media, they were recognized on the streets. It was, according to the journalist, "the time of faith in something bright." The creators of "Vzglyad" tried to create a free and fair program in which any topics are raised. Politkovskiy worked first as a reporter, and then he became one of the leading ones who, over 10 years of the program's existence, became symbols of the era of change.

In 1990, there was a change of leadership and ownership of the channel, Alexander Politkovsky is among the shareholders of the new television company "VID", led by Alexander Lyubimov. When in 1991 the leadership decided to suspend the release of programs, Politkovskii and Lyubimov took it as an act of infringement on freedom of speech and began to produce "A View from the Underground" on videotapes. The project was not successful, but the program returned after a while.

Since 1992, Politkovskiy has his own "Politburo" program, he has to work hard and hard, he is constantly on the road and gets real pleasure from his work. His credo is honesty and reliability. He finds sharp and unexpected topics, so, he examines the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, talks about what he saw with his own eyes. In this program, Politkovskiy finds himself in investigative journalism, but the program lasted only until 1995. After the murder of Vlad Listyev in the television company, a desperate struggle for power begins, Politkovsky is pushed aside and squeezed out of the company, he parted with the shares and leaves.

Life without a "Look"

In parallel with work in the "Look", Politkovski does his favorite thing - he shoots documentary films. The most famous are "Out the windows of August" and "Behind the windows August - 2". In the last years of work in "VIDE", at the invitation of E. Sagalayev, Alexander Politkovskiy begins to make an author's program on TV-6, it is called "Territory TV-6". The journalist continues to work in his style, issuing only reliable and honest information. He could not and did not want to fit into the new commercial television and therefore preferred to go on a free voyage than to cover the profitable events for which someone could pay. In "Territory" Politkovskiy finally gets the image of a fighter for justice, he caustically points to social injustice, does not hesitate in expressions and does not recognize authorities. In this format, he quickly ceased to be necessary TV-6, which positioned itself as an entertainment channel for young people. Later Politkovsky with the program goes to the channel "Ugra", he concentrates on shooting documentaries on topical topics.

Further for several years the journalist works in the company "TV Center", releasing the program "Time is local", also conducts a talk show "Prison and Will", but all these programs have a low rating and quickly leave the airwaves.

In 2000, he created the television company "Politkovskiy Studio", which makes programs and films for different channels. In parallel, he works in various companies, for example, on the television channel "Nostalgia" Politkovski is leading the program "Back to the USSR". For three years he tried not to talk about politics and the situation in the country, but it was not entirely organic, and he left the program of his own free will. On the channel "Hunting and Fishing" he leads the program "Cherry Pit".

Life position

Politkovskiy Alexander Vladimirovich is an independent journalist, this is his most important achievement. He believes that journalism does not tolerate commercialization and that journalists should always strive for objectivity and honesty. After Vzglyad, he tries for a long time to find a place in the domestic television, but his sharp statements and intransigence did not allow him to stay somewhere for a long time.

Working on his own programs and films, he does not accept the inclusion of ad units in them, does not recognize the creation of custom-made materials, and such a position does not fit into modern television.

Social activity

From 1989 to 1993 in the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR was such a deputy - Alexander Politkovskiy. Reviews of colleagues about his work at that time are the most positive. Deputy Politkovskiy defended justice and achieved, for example, the closure of the Perm zone for political prisoners. He was a member of the Human Rights Committee and tried to help people defend their rights.

Today's Day

Today Politkovsky considers himself an independent journalist, in his own studio he shoots films and programs on various topics. He says that it is impossible to remain a free journalist today, but he aspires to it. He shoots films on acute topics: "Brother" - about the internal troops in Chechnya, "Fanged Mountains" - about the small people - Soyots - who are on the verge of extinction, he travels a lot around the provinces, communicating with people, acting as an expert on political Issues. He is a rare guest on federal channels, as he is not ready to soften his remarks about their leaders. Politkovsky says he is satisfied with his current position and is proud of the fact that he manages to maintain a relative independence.

Private life

People who are always in sight can often not hide their personal lives, exceptions are, and they are Alexander Politkovskiy. The personal life of a journalist is little known to the general public. Everyone only knows that he was the husband of the tragically dead journalist Anna Politkovskaya. But they parted several years before her death.

Alexander communicates with their children - Vera and Ilya. And on this well-known facts end. Politkovsky never appears in the world with companions and says nothing about his personal life.
