Ivanovskoe, farmstead (Podolsk): description how to get

In the picturesque village of Ivanovskoe, located near the Pakhra river, the homonymous manor rises. Today, next to the old estate are modern residential buildings. The whole territory of the estate is one big museum. Manor «Ivanovskoe» (Podolsk) has survived difficult times. The first of its masters were representatives of the Kamensky family. Then the estate became the property of the Golovins.

The first reconstruction of the manor occurred in the early 19th century under Count Fedor Tolstoy, who had a weakness for antiques and flowers.

The exterior of the estate

For all of its existence, the estate has been passed from hand to hand to noble persons an incredible number of times. All of them rebuilt it according to their taste. Initially, the estate was a two-story building with six columns. The facade, fortified with a stone terrace, looked at the river. The center of the first floor was occupied by a huge hall with several kinds of lighting. On the walls was beautiful stucco.

The estate, built in the classical style, is located at the very top of the slope to the river. Before the main building there is a park with a huge terrace in the form of a stalls. The central part of it is correctly planned and represents a harmonious composition. Limes predominate here. Their height reaches 22 meters. Sometimes there are spruce and elms. A separate part of the park is planted with weeping birches. There are also young plantations (balsamic poplar, horse chestnut). In order to restore the former appearance of the park, it is necessary to completely re-plan it and plant it with new plants. Today these are only fragmentary plantations that do not convey the atmosphere of the past. The only thing that can be saved from old trees is linden and larch.

The estate of Feodor Tolstoy

At the end of the 18th century Count Fyodor Tolstoy passed into possession the estate "Ivanovskoe" (Podolsk). The photo, unfortunately, does not reflect the unique atmosphere that reigned under the graph. Tolstoy had a weakness for Slavic manuscripts and early printed books. During his lifetime a unique library was assembled. The Count's wife was SA Durasova, whose grandfather was a well-known gold miner. Having received a huge dowry for the bride, Tolstoy decided to erect a whole architectural complex. "Ivanovo" (the estate, Podolsk) has acquired completely different outlines.

It was under Tolstoy that a two-storey house with two outward winged outbuildings was built. At the level with the house, a greenhouse was demolished with a room in which theater performances were held. The picturesque park in English style stretched directly along the Pahra river. On the same territory a house for the manager of the estate was built. Near the main house there were buildings for household needs and a stable.

AA Zakrevsky - the new owner of the estate

It was Zakrevsky who decided to set up a house church in the eastern wing of the estate. Earlier there was a theater, which had to be moved to the west wing between the main house of the estate and the outbuilding. The construction of the estate was going on for 50 years. And only by the middle of the 19th century there was formed that architectural ensemble that can be observed today. In the center of the manor there is a house in three floors. The decorative design of the facade is undoubtedly worthy of attention. Especially distinguished portico with six columns of the Corinthian order, framed by balconies and arcades of the main entrance. The front view of the facade is attached to the hull in the form of wings, as well as painted wings on the sides, which depict the motifs of the architecture of ancient Pallas.

Ivanovskoye (manor, Podolsk) is a real work of art. A more majestic building in the district is simply not found. In the extreme severity of the classical Russian style, all the splendor of this architectural ensemble lies.

Ivanovskoye is a manor (Podolsk), in which lofty balls and theatrical performances were often held. Many writers of those times noted the special popularity of this estate among the local nobility. In their works it was said that practically all of Moscow had gathered in Ivanovskoye. All this thanks to the hostess of the estate - the Countess AF Zakrevskaya, who was a superb farmer, was a kind-hearted person and moreover possessed captivating beauty. Her image inspired all poets and writers of that era.

Theater

A special role in the life of the estate was played by the theater. At that time it was considered one of the best on the whole territory of the Moscow region. The countess, with her characteristic taste, made the theater herself. Dramatic art was the weakness of the mistress of the house. Therefore, she often invited the artists of the Maly Theater to perform on the stage of her house. Various plays based on classical works were staged here, for example, Shakespeare's Hamlet, Griboyedov's Woe from Wit, and many others. In theatrical productions not only professional artists took part, but also guests of the estate.

The new life of the estate

In 1859 Count Zakrevsky received resignation and decided to leave with his wife to Italy. Ivanovskoye (the estate, Podolsk) goes into the possession of Countess Keller. The new mistress was fond of selection of tropical plants, which safely grew in the backyard greenhouse. But the countess was not able to keep the estate. She had to hand him over for his debts to the Bakhrushin family.

Latest owners

Today in the museum exposition you can see a whole section dedicated to Bakhrushin. There are photos of several generations of this kind.

Visiting the new owners of the estate often liked to visit the famous artist V. Borisov-Musatov. Some of his masterpieces, such as "Requiem", "Sketch for Frescoes", were written in the local park. This is recorded in the letters of the owner of the estate, addressed to NS Yablonev - the main regional specialist of Podolsk.

Some reproductions of the artist's paintings are also represented in the museum exposition. Looking at them, you can imagine what the backyard looked like in those days.

Bakhrushins were the last owners of the estate. Then it passed into the hands of the Moscow City Government. The latter organized here a children's shelter-colony.

Manor today

The Bolsheviks played a huge role in the life of the estate. For a long time there was a hostel in the manor building. Today there are several museums here. In the western wing there is a museum of local lore Podolsk, and the building itself is occupied by the Federal Museum of Professional Education. This place is also famous for the fact that you can legitimize your relationship and hold a great photo session. Recently circus tent in Podolsk (Ivanovskoye estate) showed its best numbers.

This place even became the beginning of a new life for one of the circus artists. It was here that the tiger cub appeared. This is an incredible event, since children from the union of a tigress and a lion appear extremely rarely. Circus in Podolsk in the estate "Ivanovo" to someone can remind of the past magnificence of this place. After all, lavish balls were constantly held here, theatrical productions were staged, and famous creative people visited. And although today all these are only memories, nevertheless similar events give some idea of how life here used to live earlier.

Here is such a difficult story has the estate "Ivanovo" in Podolsk.

How to get there?

The estate is located on the very outskirts of Podolsk. You can get here directly from the railway station by bus number 4. You need to go to the final one.

Today the manor can not boast of its former magnificence. In a special desolation there is a greenhouse and a private garden.

However, in comparison with many other estates of the Moscow region, which are simply buried in ruins, this place does not lose hope for a brighter future.
