How to mold a horse from plasticine: we create together with preschoolers

A child at each age has certain skills: a three-year-old is easier to make sausages, and a five-year-old kid is free to spin small balls. Consider how to mold a horse from plasticine, from simple to complex products.

Lepim with 3-4 year old children

To kids of this age it is difficult to attach details to a trunk, to do small parts and to work with a stack. Therefore, adult assistance is required. Let's try to make a horse out of plasticine in stages.

  • Roll out the clay in thick sausage.
  • Cut small pieces from each edge, determining the size of the legs and trunk.
  • Bend the "cut" sausage in a semicircle and level the legs.
  • Make four small circles, flatten them and "put on" your feet. It will be hooves.
  • For the head, roll a small sausage. From the side of the muzzle, make it a little square, and attach the edge of the neck to the trunk.
  • Roll small round eyes. Stick to the face.
  • Make small sausages and flatten them at the bottom. Stick to the head. These will be the ears.
  • Between the ears attach a mane, which must be made of three long thin strips.
  • For the tail, roll the sausage and flatten it. Attach to the trunk.
  • It remains only on the muzzle to draw a stack of his mouth and make holes-nostrils.

How to mold a horse from plasticine with matches and toothpicks

  • Roll a thick sausage for the torso and bend it, determining the length of the neck. Fingers as though "pull off" the extra clay from the cervical to the horse. In the neck, insert a match.
  • Roll out 4 sausages for legs. On top of them you insert matches.
  • Make four balls and flatten them from one side (you get a kind of slippers). "Put on" the hooves on your feet and cut off excess clay.
  • Accurately attach the legs to the body. Matches simplify this process, you will remain hands to smooth joint junctions.
  • For the head, roll a large ball and make an oval from it.
  • Roll out two small balls and use a match to make a notch in them. This will be the nostrils, which should be attached to the wide part of the muzzle.
  • Further flatten two balls for the eyes. On top of them, attach either a purchased pupil, or a ball of black color. Attach them to the narrow part of the head.
  • Ears make from ovals and flatten them from one end. Attach to the head.
  • For tail and mane make sausage, flatten it and make a cut with the stack. Attach to the trunk and head.

Crafts from plasticine: a horse in motion

  • Stick the neck and neck out of the sausage. The edge of the neck flatten, as if you are making flower petals.
  • Make a head with an extended muzzle and insert it into the notch in the neck. Gently smooth the junction.
  • On the trunk with your fingers, make pits for attaching legs.
  • Make two smooth sausages for the front legs. Insert the wire in them. Attach the first leg perpendicular to the body. The second is as if parallel to the body, that is, as if the horse raised its foot forward for the next step. In the knee, bend the sausage and adjust the joints.
  • For the hind legs, make sausages with wide hips. Insert the wire into them and attach them to the trunk. To highlight the joints in the knees, the legs need to be bent and straightened.
  • For the tail, roll the sausage and scissors make cuts, imitating the hair. Attach to the trunk.
  • For the mane and bang, squeeze the sausage and cut it with scissors on the strips on both sides. Attach to the head as if the hair is flapping in different directions.
  • Lastly, make the ears, and the stack - the recesses for the eyes and nostrils. In the eye, insert small balls.

Recommendations for modeling with preschoolers

Explaining to children how to mold a horse from plasticine, let's recall what skills are fixed in children during the modeling of this animal. Preschool children learn:

  • Roll big and small balls;
  • Make thick and thin sausages;
  • Work with the stack;
  • Roll the oval;
  • Flatten out the figures in the right place.

With young children, it is important to work out all the details (eyes, ears, nostrils, tail, legs, mane, bangs), and for this you need to discuss all the points how to mold a horse from plasticine. It does not matter that some of them kids can not repeat, most importantly, to understand the distinctive features of the horse compared to other animals. For example, an elongated oval head, a long neck, a tail and a mane of "waving" hair, hooves, nostrils.

It is better to start with simple models and then move on to complex products where children try to make joints invisible, and the horse's forms are realistic. For work, you can take not only plasticine, but also a special mass for molding, clay, so that the child can see the difference between crafts.
