How to make rhymes? What are the rhymes in literature?

Rhyme is the consonance of the ends of lines in poems. Its purpose is to strengthen the rhythmic organization, which is very important. The most important thing that should be in a poem is rhyme. What kinds of them are, you will soon become aware. Rhythmic units must be repeated in the same time interval, internal proportionality is also necessary - this can be called the basis of the poem. Without it, it can not exist. In the syllabo-tonic addition of verses, rhyme performs two functions. Firstly, it enhances the rhythm, and secondly, it serves as an expressive-visual means. Therefore, in order to analyze the poem, it is necessary to have the ability to recognize rhymes in it. In principle, it is quite simple.

Types of rhymes

What rhymes are in the literature? There are three main types, namely: dactylic, feminine, and also masculine. The latter include rhyme, in which the stress is placed on the final syllable, which is within the line, for example, "to come - to take". What about the female type? It stresses the penultimate syllable within the string, for example, "Czechs - nuts." Dactylic rhyme is a little more complicated. In it, the stress is on the third syllable, if you count from the end. For example, "the north is clover". Therefore, in order to recognize the type of rhyme, it is necessary to arrange the stress in the lines and see which syllable it belongs to. You need to count from the end.

A special type is hyperdactylic rhyme

There is another type of rhyme - hyperdactylic, they are more complex. For example, "orange - melange". There are such rhymes are not often. They are present, for example, in the works of Bryusov.

Types of rhymes

What kinds of rhymes happen? Distinguish inaccurate and accurate. To recognize any of these species, you need to look at how much the consonant and vowel letters match at the end of the lines. Identifying them is quite simple. As for the exact rhymes, the letters appearing in the same endings of the letters coincide. For example, "berries are pagodas". Inaccurate is called rhyme, based on the consonance of one, and in some cases, two letters. For example, a glass is a sarafan.

To determine the type of rhyme, you need to pay attention to the ends of the consonant lines and see how many identical letters in them. In this there is nothing complicated. If there are one or two coinciding sounds, and then they are not at all, then this is an inaccurate rhyme. And what if there are three or more identical consonants and vowels at the ends of lines? In this case, we can conclude that this is an accurate rhyme. It is not so difficult to compose it. It is not enough to know what rhymes are. We still need to be able to distinguish between them.

Methods of rhyme

Among other things, it is necessary to understand the methods of rhyme. There are a lot of them, but the main ones are a few: circular, cross, and also adjacent.

As for the latter method, it represents the rhyming of lines located next: the third and fourth, the first and the second (aabb type). This scheme is very common. The cross method is present if the second and fourth rhymes, the first and third lines (as abab) rhyme. What can we say about the roundabout? With this rhyme, the second and third, the first and fourth lines (like abba) are consonant. This pattern is rare. In order to determine the way of rhyming, you should read the poem and see which lines are consonant. Then you can draw a diagram. It clearly demonstrates the way rhyming. Some people need to look at something to better understand the subject.

Now you know what rhymes are. But that's not all. You also learned the ways of rhyming.
