To produce such a device, an acid fire extinguisher tank is required, designed for a pressure of 150 bar, with a capacity of 5 liters. The following manipulations are carried out in several stages:

  • The valve is grinded until it is round, screwed into a special T-piece fitted with a charging valve.
  • On it is fastened a pair of duralumin plates, tied together.
  • As a reducer, a recycled second stage of a similar element of an oxygen chair is used (it functions from 8 bar).
  • A homemade safety valve is prepared, the diameter of the membrane should be reduced with two plates.
  • A reducer valve bed (1.2 mm cross section) is produced, a fluoroplastic cushion for the same element.
  • The pulmonary automaton is tightened with bolts.

When you press the lever, it rises and the air mixture is fed into the breath. Exhalation goes into the water through a special valve. From the surface, air is fed through a welding cylinder (volume up to 40 liters), to which a pulmonary automaton is connected. The pneumatic button can be mounted on the hand, which will make the dive more convenient.

Another model of a fire extinguisher

This scuba-diving can be made by hand with a 1.5 liter fire extinguisher bottle. The unit is equipped with a manual air supply system for inhaling, there is a pneumatic button, a reducer and a valve. A balloon from a fire extinguisher (1.5 liters) is used.

The reducer includes a tube placed in the fitting from the fire extinguisher. It houses a check valve made of plastic, pressed to its seat by compressed air and a spring. The body is wound on the tube with a diaphragm and a hairpin. The reverse side is equipped with a lever, which is activated after pressing the finger. Air, passing through the nozzle with a diameter of 2 millimeters, goes to the inhalation, and the exhalation is made through the valve. The cargo belt can be made from lead or duralumin pipes. To manufacture this device you need a pump sprayer, flexible plastic hose, snorkel, bottle.

Production of the device is as follows:

  1. The first thing to do is remove the limiter that is available in the sprayer. This will increase the output of the air mixture.
  2. At the top of the sprayer is put on the hose, the joint is sealed with silicone or hot glue.
  3. From the bottom of the underwater pipe, a lid from a plastic bottle is mounted, in which it is necessary to make a hole in advance along the diameter of the hose.
  4. The hose is inserted into the prepared socket and carefully sealed.

The bottle interacts with the pump sprayer and is filled with an air mixture. For example, a 330 ml tank is filled in about 50 swings. This will be enough for 4 full-fledged breaths. More voluminous tanks require reinforcement by the load, since when filling with air they tend to float up. To extract the mixture from the bottle, just press the spray button.

Diving equipment from gas cylinders

Aqualung with their own hands really made of gas cylinders. Below are the stages of work:

  1. As the main tank use cylinders up to 22 liters. Alternatively, you can take two tanks of 5-7 liters.
  2. Next, you need to prepare a reducer, comparable to the pressure of the tank.
  3. The reducer is connected to the cylinder, the pressure in it should be 6-10 bar higher than the index of the environment.
  4. A hose with a pulmonary automatic device is connected to the reducer.
  5. Then connect the regulators. The number of them depends on the anticipated tasks. For example, for planned diving, the main and spare elements will be required.
  6. It is also possible to put a buoyancy compensator, which will increase the safety of the operation of the aqualung.

At the last stage, you should fill the balloon with the air mixture, check the operation of the entire device. The first dive is desirable to be carried out at a shallow depth in order to ensure the integrity of the unit.
