How to install deb, binary files, installation methods

Before you start talking about how to install deb-applications, you need to understand what it is, and whether it should be done at all.

All documents created with the help of computer programs have their own expansion. Here, deb is an extension for binary package files , which in turn are needed to install and distribute in the operating systems projects that use the management of dpkg packages, for example, Debian (a combination of two names, the founder of Debian Jan Murdoch and his ex-wife Debra).

Installing deb files requires a jailbreak. Most programs created in Cydia Store by developers on the side, are distributed only in the specified format. For various reasons, they are not added to the App Store. The same ones downloaded via mobile traffic in the application itself are installed here without any problems.

And install deb-files downloaded on the Internet, there are several ways, which we'll talk about below.

1. Installation via terminal. It occurs as follows: using the download manager, copy deb to / var / root / tmp. From the standard BigBoss, using Cydia, install MobileTerminal. Enable it and enter the commands: su root - alpine - dpkg -i / tmp / filename.

2. Install deb using Autoinstall Cydia. If the application is new, it's worth connecting to the network, letting the files of the system automatically update. Then, having resorted to the file manager, copy .deb to / var / root / Media / Cydia / AutoInstall. If the automatic installation folder is not found in the field, you must create it yourself. Now you need to reboot the device: turn it off and then on again. When you enable the Cydia application, all files will be installed automatically.

Before installing deb in this way, you need to familiarize yourself with possible errors and find out how they can be fixed:

- Everything was completed successfully, if nothing is in the AutoInstall folder after the reboot, that is, it will be empty. If it does not appear in the installed packages or is in the queue for deletion, then in the process the automatic updating of Cydia was skipped. In this case, delete everything and run it in a new way, not missing anything.

- If the folder of the automatic installation after the reboot is not empty, then the error is, it was created in the wrong place. To fix this, you must exactly follow the instructions.

The third way, how to install deb, can be used only on the Windows operating system. The device connects to the computer via a USB cable. Run Cyder II, the necessary folders and files the program will create automatically and independently. The archives created in this way are copied deb. Now the Cyder is turned on. All created files are located in the "Synchronization" tab and you can move them either to AutoInstall or to the cache in Sidia. In the first case, you just need to restart the folder, and the program will start working independently. In the second - Sidia is started, the necessary program is selected and the installation is started, the download from the Internet is not required. All is ready!

Via iFile, the installation method from the repository to the device. In any place, using the download manager, the necessary files are transferred. IFile starts and runs the Install button. After the installation is complete, the desktop is refreshed and then rebooted.

In addition to all the above ways of installing deb, you can change the access rights. For this we download via Cydia iFile, install, using one of the methods described above, we launch. Find the place where the file lies, go to its attributes (the blue arrow opposite the name on the right of the screen). We shake down and find the access rights. For their correct editing at all points, the "group-user-all" must be checked before the "read-write-execute-cache" commands. They should be four, only in this case, access will be allowed. We fix our actions by clicking the "Finish" button, which is highlighted in blue in the upper right corner. All rights are open and you can safely continue to work.
