How to delete a page in a Word. Very detailed

In our totally computerized age nobody is surprised by such a program as Word. The number of users is constantly increasing, replenishing with new members of the computer community.

If you are a novice user and are interested in taking one more step towards mastering the higher professional skills of working with this program, then this article is for you. It will tell you how to remove an extra page in the Word. This is far from a single-sounding question from those PC users who are just beginning to learn all the charm of modern computer technologies.

When typing and editing it, it often becomes necessary to remove unnecessary fragments of typed text. I want to introduce you to one feature: besides the characters that we always see on the screen perfectly, there are a number of invisible (unprintable) signs, including such as the end of a line, paragraph, page or section. These are service symbols, they do not carry useful information in the document, but they are managed in the same way as any text characters. They throw us empty, unnecessary pages in the document just like empty lines. To get acquainted with them, you can go through: the Home tab - the Paragraph group - Display. On the screen, this icon looks like "¶". The mode of viewing nonprinting characters is disabled by pressing the "¶" icon again. Also for these operations, you can use a combination, (while "8" is pressed on the main keyboard).

To put things in order in the document, well-known keys Delete and Backspace will come to our rescue.

First, let's look at how to delete a page in a Word if it is empty. A blank page can appear in the text in one of the following cases:

· Blank lines or paragraphs are punctured throughout the whole page;

· At the beginning of the page is the sign "end of page or section".

But you can see this only in the "Display" mode. Above it was said that unprintable (invisible) signs are managed the same way as any text. To delete them, put the cursor to the left of the symbol "¶" and press the Delete key. If you use the Backspace key, the last character of the previous line will be deleted. Using one of these two keys, you can delete all unnecessary rows one at a time.

How to delete a page in the Word more professionally? To begin with, you should visualize unprintable characters and, while holding down the left mouse button, select the whole page. Then, by simply pressing any of the two Delete or Backspace keys, it's easy to delete the empty fragment. This is the most versatile way to remove any unnecessary fragments in the text.

More important for the user may be the question of how to delete a page in a Word if it is filled with text information. It is necessary to set the cursor at any place of the text to be deleted, simply execute the following algorithm: Home tab - Edit group - Find - Go tab - enter page instead of page number - Go to - Close.

The deleted part of your text will be completely highlighted. After that, delete it in the standard way (Delete or Backspace).

The last point that I would like to highlight in this article is how to delete the page in the Word at the end of the document. The answer will be short - any of the three above methods: manually (line by line), selecting the whole fragment with a mouse or selecting automatically in the Find-Go mode. You just need to understand that the last blank page is nothing more than a few empty lines that accidentally hit the end of the text.

When asked how to delete a page in a word, there is another, fundamentally different, answer. The situation with the presence of blank pages in the text can be corrected by slightly changing the vertical size of the text field. To do this, on the vertical ruler, move the text field border upwards or downwards.

Good luck to you!
