How to choose a game monitor
Modern games are characterized by great dynamics and high frame rate. For a gamer, it's very important to have a good screen that can respond to quickly changing pictures. After all, on the clarity of the image depends the speed of the player's reaction, and this is the main condition for success. Screens that correspond to the rather high requirements imposed by players are also called: "game monitor". Let's consider their main features.
How to choose a game monitor
One of the most important parameters that affect the clarity of the picture is the response time (or reaction) of the matrix. This parameter shows, for what time the point of the image (pixel) will pass from the brightest state (white) to the darkest (black), and then back. This parameter is measured in milliseconds (ms). In order for the game monitor to keep up with the change of images, the response of the matrix should be no more than 5 ms. Such a reaction speed will allow you to react in time to all changes on the screen and even very fast moving object will not leave a loop, the picture will not "float".
Equally important is the sweep frequency and resolution. For comfort and for the eyes not to get tired, choose models of screens with a sweep frequency of at least 90 Hz. The resolution, of course, is better to choose in the format of high quality Full HD 1920x1080, but a good (and cheaper) version will be 1280x720.
For a good and high-quality picture, an important parameter is the contrast. Distinguish between "native" and dynamic contrast. Dynamic is a technology that allows you to get the most vivid picture by changing the brightness of the backlight. But initially it depends on the passport "native" contrast of the monitor, simply improving it. So, pay attention not to dynamic, but to passport contrast. Naturally, the higher it is, the clearer the picture, but the higher the price.
The gaming monitor is not very cheap. High requirements imply the use of new technologies, and this is always reflected in the price. But the monitor is bought for several years and, unlike another "iron", can not be improved. So get the best you can afford.
When choosing a game monitor, do not pay too much attention to the manufacturer. Of course, an explicit handicraft product should not be purchased, but often there were situations when devices of cheaper, lesser-known firms worked much better than products of promoted and expensive brands. In general, the concept of "best gaming monitor" is absolutely subjective and individual. Do not really trust advertising, believe your own eyes and feelings. We are all different, and what suits one, absolutely does not like the other.
