Ointment "Lokoid" is used in the treatment of diseases such as psoriasis, as well as unspecified, atopic and contact dermatitis. The main active substance in this medicine is hydrocortisone 17-butyrate, as a base is used petroleum jelly, ointment is used as an external agent. Contraindications to the use of this drug

All cases where the human body is hypersensitive to hydrocortisone or other components of the drug, as well as in the presence of bacterial skin infections, for example, gram-negative follicle, strepto- and staphylodermia and others. Also, the use of the drug is not allowed if a person has viral, fungal and parasitic skin infections, tuberculosis lesions, as well as syphilitic skin lesions, any tumors and in the post-vaccination period. Care should be taken if the patient has a sick wound or ulcers and is not recommended for women during pregnancy and lactation. In pregnancy, GCS penetrates the fetus through the placenta, especially this is pronounced when treating large areas of the skin.

Side effects

The use of lokoid causes much less side effects than the use of fluorinated steroids. Currently, there is no evidence of an overdose of this drug.

The drug is applied to the affected skin areas up to 3 times a day in a thin layer, in order for the drug to function better, it is necessary to perform massaging movements when applying it. For a week, do not use more than 60 grams of the drug.

Do not apply the drug around the eyes, so as not to provoke the development of glaucoma, and with its constant impact on the conjunctiva, the intraocular pressure may increase . On the scalp of the body, for example on the head, in the genital area it is better to use the cream "Lokoid".

"Lokoid" ointment, analogues of which "Lokoid Krelo" and "Lokoid Lipocream" also have a rapid anti-edematous, anti-inflammatory, antipruritic effect, but have a softer effect, sold without a doctor's prescription.
