How do two monitors work?

Some users, whose activities are closely connected with the permanent work on a personal computer, very much need to connect an additional monitor to their device. This is due to the fact that they experience a catastrophic lack of a working area on a single display. To meet such needs, it is recommended to connect two monitors on the same computer for their synchronous use.

In this article, we will talk about how to implement this method in practice. After reading my recommendations, you can easily connect two monitors yourself. Windows 7 you have installed or another operating system - it's not so important. The described method is universal.

So, for the beginning we are determined with a new monitor, which will be additionally connected to the video card of your computer. Try to pick up if not identical, then at least one that has a resolution similar to the first. Also, take seriously the choice of refresh rate. When you have two monitors working at the same time, you will simply have to look one at a time, then one at the other. So, if the refresh rate is slow, you risk ruining your eyesight.

Next, you need to make sure whether your video card supports dual-channel mode. Typically, this element has two or even three video outputs. We check whether we can connect an additional monitor to the computer. If there is a need, you can purchase any adapter, for example, DVI-VGA and the like. Next, connect the new display to the desired port using a standard cable with an adapter and start the computer, while not forgetting to turn on the two monitors.

After your operating system boots, you must configure the settings for synchronous operation of both screens. To do this, we press the right button of the manipulator on any area of your desktop, and then in the resulting context menu select the section responsible for the screen resolution. When the settings window starts, click on the search button and wait until the operating system detects the new device.

When the search procedure is completed, you will need to select a graphic image of the desired monitor and activate the function of the main screen assignment. Next, select the screen expansion point, which will allow you to operate the two monitors independently of each other.

In the event that you plan to open only an Internet browser and similar software on the secondary display, I recommend changing the position of your monitor. To do this, select the portrait position option, and then confirm the installation using the "Apply" button. After this, rotate the monitor 90 degrees in the clockwise direction, then secure it. Next, adjust the position of the screens relative to each other. When the two monitors are turned on, move the running program to the area of another display, after which the cursor should be removed from the first.
