To do this, he needed to understand that he loved Katya, to come to her in Ensk, to visit Aunt Dasha and her sister and find old letters on the shelf. After reading them, he realized that fate mysteriously connected him with the Tatarinov family long before acquaintance, since these were the letters of the captain addressed to Marya Vasilyevna.

Sanya accuses Nikolai Antonovich that he did not help Captain Tatarinov, but simply sent him to certain death, providing the expedition with unsuitable products and equipment. But he can not prove this yet. And then he swears to find the missing expedition.
