Food security - the path to a happy future

Many people on the planet daily consume a huge amount of food, without thinking that somewhere in Africa, Asia or America there are countries where there is an acute problem such as food security. Horrified by news of the famine in one or another tribe, we drop one hand into a fruit bowl, and the other moves closer to him a plate of cookies and sweets, not realizing the scale of the disaster. And there are hundreds of thousands of such people in every country.

Seas, rivers and oceans can supply the world's population with fresh seafood for quite some time. The fields are pleased to give the man fertile soil for the cultivation of cereals, vegetables and fruit trees. Forests share their mushroom and berry variety. However, people are ruining everything: pollution of the atmosphere, emissions of industrial wastes, oil, gas and other minerals, accompanied by soil destruction, deforestation and draining of reservoirs, leads steadily to the fact that food security gradually comes to the forefront of the most important issues of mankind. Therefore, if society really strives to solve this problem and feed the entire population of the planet, it is necessary to thoroughly and completely rethink the principles of the work of the industries, agriculture, fishing and forestry.

As stated at the World Food Summit in 1996, food security is the situation in which every citizen of a country has the opportunity at any time to consume the amount of healthy and safe food that he needs to carry out normal processes of life and work Active way of life.

In this case, the positive outcome of this state depends on four factors, the first of which is the availability of food in the country, that is, its physical presence. A number of conditions must be fulfilled:

1. Food production should be at a high level.

2. Presence of a developed system of storage and transportation.

3. Wide network of trade.

The second factor on which food security depends is the availability of this food. That is, every person should have the opportunity to purchase, exchange and receive the food and products he needs. This item has much in common with the World Program for Poverty Reduction.

Food security directly depends on the use of food (third factor). For normal development, the body needs a certain amount of nutrients, minerals and vitamins. However, if human health does not meet the established parameters (exhaustion, wrong lifestyle, disruption of organs, etc.), then the necessary elements will not be assimilated. In this case, a big role is played by the use of clean water.

The fourth factor is the fulfillment of all three previous ones. It is this parameter that will help to resolve the issue of food security. The Russian Federation, together with other world organizations, is fighting to end hunger on the planet. On the basis of the Moscow State University, the Agrarian Sector was created, which is called the "Eurasian Center for Food Security." This structural unit represents the country at the world level and participates in solving this problem, cooperating with organizations of other countries (FAO, IFAD, WFP, etc.).
