"Fire flashed blue": analysis. History of writing poems

The main theme in Esenin's work was Russia. And it was only in the last years of his life that the poet created a series of lyrical works dedicated to feeling for a woman. In them, and heartfelt recognition, and longing for the passing youth. One of these creations is "The blue fire was swept away". An analysis of the poem is presented in this article.

What preceded the writing?

In 1923 Yesenin returned to Russia. The poet was absent from his homeland for fifteen months. Outwardly, he was such a European dandy. In his soul, he had a void. At least the poet's friends later recalled that another Yesenin came from abroad. He did not have the same fire, enthusiasm, naive and little childish faith in the great future of Russia.

According to the memoirs of poets, the Imagists, Yesenin reminded a man who had been looking for something for a long time, but could not find it. Pain and frustration created new creative ideas. After the wedding tour with Duncan, the poet was able to create works with deep philosophical meaning.

In this dark time the poem "The Black Man" was born. It was criticized by envious persons. Not all Yesenin's contemporaries were ready to accept it. Gorky, after hearing the "Black Man" in the expressive execution of the author, burst into tears.

What else is remarkable about the last stage in the life of the great poet? In the period from 1923 to 1925, he also learned a feeling that he had never heard before. "The blue fire was swept away", the analysis of which is described below, is a work of a mature man. This poem is not so much about love as about the ability of a deep light feeling to change the course of life.

About love

Yesenin never wrote about what he did not touch in his life. Not devised feelings are devoted to the verse "The blue fire was swept away". Analysis of the work of art must begin with the history of writing. As Anatoly Mariengof claimed in his memoirs, Yesenin once complained to him that he had no poems about love. Write a lyrical work was beyond his power. After all, you need to fall in love with it.

On the fortune of the poet, on the day when the conversation about the lyrics was held, he met for the first time with Augusta Miklashevskaya. It was to this woman that the heartfelt poem "The Blue Fire Flickered" was devoted, the analysis of which was repeatedly done by literary critics and critics in order to understand what the poet felt in the last years of his life. After all, a year after the creation of the work, full of hope and self-confidence, Yesenin died tragically.

Augusta Miklashevskaya

She was a very talented actress. Played on the stage of the Chamber Theater. Miklashevskaya was not only a beautiful woman, but she also had rare spiritual qualities. Their love seemed poetic, clean and, as one of the author's friends, created solely for the sake of the lyrical theme, claimed. And this was a characteristic feature of an extraordinary talent. This is evidenced by the sincerity and penetration with which Yesenin gave "The blue fire was swept away".

A verse, the analysis of which can create an impression of eternal, true love, is really dedicated to a woman with whom the poet has little to do. All that Yesenin did was for the sake of poetry. In order to create a lyrical work, he fell in love, truly, without looking back. Yesenin did not write about feelings that he did not know. He lived by them, let them through his soul. And only thanks to selfless and unconditional love for poetry were born poems, included in the anthology of Russian literature.

When he first sang about love ...

After the poet read Miklashevsky's lines dedicated to her, as if a dam broke. Up to this point, the conversation between Yesenin and the actress was somewhat cold. But after they began to meet every day. And at that time, according to the memoirs of Miklashevskaya, there was neither scandalous nor rude Yesenin. "The blue fire was swept away" - a verse, the analysis of which confirms the author's sincerity, readiness to submit to the feeling.

Yesenin did not portray love. He was really worried about her. Although a few weeks after the cycle in which the poem entered, he saw the light, the poet forgot his feelings. After all his life he was in search of new themes for creativity.

Love the bully

There were many rumors about Esenin. They said that he was rude to women, sometimes unbearable. Poems, which the poet dedicated to Isadora Duncan, did not contain tenderness. There were a lot of obscene hints in them, which, however, does not detract from their literary value.

The first truly lyrical work, which Yesenin created, is a poem "The blue fire was swept away". Analysis of the first stanza shows that the poet was not just in love, but was in a state of humility. However, such sentiments did not last long in Esenin's soul.

Forever forgotten taverns ...

Tenderness and pure feeling dedicated Yesenin "swept away the fire blue." An analysis of this famous work speaks of the poet's confidence that the love that came into his life is capable of changing everything. He promises not only from now on not to visit taverns, but even to stop writing. Here the author exaggerated a lot. After all, he could not live without writing.

Miklashevskaya knew another Yesenin, one who was uncomfortable with his "friends." It was a man sober, reasonable, benevolent and open. However, soon she witnessed a drunken debauch, arranged by Yesenin in one of the restaurants. An unattractive story has saddened a young woman a lot. Nevertheless, she never spoke of the poet in a bad light. Feelings for a talented actress, a kind, somewhat naive person, are devoted to the words of the work "The blue fire was swept away ...".

The verse, the analysis of which is presented in the article, is a sample of the lyrics. One of its features is a ring composition. In the first stanza the poet promises to renounce his former life. The same words end the work. Yesenin used this method quite often.

Other lyrics

Of course, even before the appearance of Miklashevsky, the poet wrote about love. But it was a different feeling: heavy, painful. Yesenin compared love with plague, infection, whirlpool. The poems he dedicated to Duncan had nothing to do with those who entered the cycle "Love the Hooligan". The creation of a new lyrical hero was promoted by the experienced sorrows, disappointments, betrayal - all that was much in Esenin's life. He dedicated the "Love of a hooligan" to a woman who really was worthy of the poet's love.

Miklashevskaya, unlike Yesenin's other beloved, wrote kindly about her rivals in her memoirs. But in her memoirs, the actress admitted that, like other admirers of the talent of an outstanding poet, she could not help him. With Yesenin was difficult, sometimes unbearable. After the publication of the cycle, which included the poem discussed in this article, Miklashevskaya met with Yesenin only several times. She never visited him in the hospital. The poet, who devoted so many poems to people around him, was in reality unbearably lonely.
