Especially memorable for spectators was the spectacular semifinal in 2002 in Buenos Aires. A month later, Lopez reached the quarter-finals in Delray Beach. And then there was the first victory in the Grand Slam competitions, thanks to which Feliciano went to the second round. In June 2002, he reached the fourth stage of the Wimbledon tournament. To do this, he had to win two permanent opponents - Schutler and Cañas. This allowed Lopez to enter the top 100 of the planet's strongest tennis players.

The first serious trophy athlete won in 2004 in Vienna, at the ATP tournament. Then in the final Feliciano managed to beat Guillermo Cañas. Previously, Lopez made a good speech at the Open Championship in Dubai. But, unfortunately, lost in the finals to his peer Federer. But at the end of the season, the athlete, along with Fernando Verdasco, got a pair trophy in Stockholm.

Ups and downs

After 2004, Feliciano Lopez fell into a five-year bad luck zone. During this time, he could not get a single award. And both in single and in doubles. Although in the finals athlete got repeatedly.

Tournaments of the Grand Slam

Feliciano Lopez always had good performances on the Major. At various competitions of the Grand Slam series at different times, the athlete reached the quarter-finals three times and four times to the fourth stages. And all the quarterfinals he recorded on so unloved by all the Spaniards Wimbledon.

In the singles, the athlete was defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsong (6: 7, 4: 6). More successfully Feliciano managed to perform in doubles competitions. Together with Ferrer, he almost reached the prize places, finishing fourth in the final table.
