Fallout 4 - the legendary sequel of the series. This time the game again fell into the hands of developers from Bethesda. This fact made few people happy, because after the failed third part and successful New Vegas fans wanted to see at the helm of a completely different studio. However, this decision does not depend on them. As a result, in 2015 the world saw a full fourth on the new engine and with a completely new story. In this article we will try to understand why this game received such mixed reviews and why it, in the opinion of many, should not be called Fallout 4. The new world and the new game brought the fans of the series a completely new story. The game starts for a man or woman (by choice), which was touched by the nuclear war. Being at home with his family, the main character finds an explosion, as a result of which he and his family are escorted to the shelter. Further, the protagonist and his wife and child are placed in cryogenic cells under the guise of a routine medical check to gain access to the shelter. As a result, the protagonist wakes up in 200 years and all he remembers is the murder of his wife and the kidnapping of the child from the cryogenic chamber opposite. The hero goes to the surface, with which the storyline of Fallout 4 begins. Quests are poured on the player from the start and, in the main, are secondary. In the first location, which was your hometown, you find your home robot, who all this time was looking for owners. At this point, the player pervades the atmosphere of despair. The introduction of the new Fallout is worked out on a solid five.

What can not be said about the quests in the course of the game. Most of them are attracted to the ears and do not bear any meaning. Of course, the prehistory has every task, but you find it difficult to motivate them. Most likely, the problem is in the original string. In the player's head, it's hard to fit the fact that the main character can happily help everyone in a row or clean up the dungeon hours, when the main goal of his life is to find his own son.

Gameplay

From a solid RPG in the New Vegas series has become a solid shooter. The whole system of pumping, SPECIAL, skills and everything else is mixed in one single system of infusing points into a certain set of skills. Each of the skills has several levels. Parameters SPECIAL can now also be pumped. Have changed and the system VATS - now it does not stop time, but only slows down, so use it in gaming moments it became less.

Fallout 4 in Russian is only partially translated - subtitles and other textual component. Perhaps this is a plus - it's not clear what would happen to Russian voice acting. There are many characters on your way, the hero's companions are also several times larger.

One of the main disadvantages of the new Fallout 4 is optimization. The game does not shine with the most modern picture, but manages to brake on the most modern systems. Busy in the wasteland, in addition to an endless sweep of locations, there is practically nothing - to carry out secondary quests is not interesting, I want to shoot and go on the basic task. Also in the game was introduced a completely new mode of construction. But this entertainment is already quite an amateur - to build methodically its city and to monitor the living standards of settlers - it's too much like "Sims".

In the first days after the release of the game began to appear heaps of amateur and fan mods, which allegedly improve performance on weak computers. Some of them replace standard textures with textures with low resolution, the other part changes the values in the configuration of the ini-files of the game Fallout 4. Optimization from this still remains bad. To some users, these handicraft methods help to add 5-10 frames per second, but this does not eliminate the problem.

Verdict

The new part of Fallout was not at all the same as the whole world was waiting for. Although the fans were afraid of the studio-developer, but everyone hoped for the best. A completely reworked system only at first seems strange and inappropriate. After a couple of dozen hours in the game, you understand that it needs a special approach and attitude, not the same as the previous RPG series. All the impression of the project can be spoiled only by the disgusting work of optimizers. It would be forgivable at a high level of graphics and realistic pictures, but there is no such thing in the game. However, fans of post-apocalypse and wasteland will not stop this fact.
