Fable "Quartet". The hidden meaning and morality
The great fabulist of Russia, who lived back in the 18th and 19th centuries, Ivan Andreevich Krylov, made the genre of the fable itself not only a satirical work, but also added a deep meaning to them, raising them to unprecedented heights. He not only created highly artistic and original masterpieces, he attached importance to them, relevant at all times. Even now, reading any of his works, we can find something applicable to our era. For example, the fable "Quartet" is not in vain included in the school curriculum. It teaches us to work hard and develop our talents.
Binding to a historical event
Krylov repeatedly in his fables criticized not only the government and greedy bureaucrats, but also the tsarist power. Masterfully manipulating the Aesopian language, he concealed the obvious truths that were easily read between the lines. He not only satirically portrayed persons of high rank of that time, but also ridiculed concrete historical events. The fable "Quartet" tells about the State Council that was just founded by Alexander I and about its leaders. The latter not only proved incapable and helpless in resolving political problems, but also exposed themselves as chatterboxes and ignoramuses, which Krylov drew attention to.
The development of the plot and the heroes
What is the secret?
Finally, the Nightingale comes to the aid of the desperate animal, in the understanding of Krylov it is a simple people who see what is wrong. The main condition for the correct and harmonious game of the quartet is the presence of talent among musicians. Translating everything to the State Council - a problem in the absence of professionalism among officials, none of them understood the area properly assigned to them properly. Fable "Quartet" was the source of a funny aphorism, they were the last words of Nightingale about how not to sit down, without a talent musician not to become and not to extract melodies from the instrument. Krylov on behalf of all sensible people and the people as a whole is trying to convey a simple truth. And the essence is that it is not enough to just be from the highest class by birth, in order to
The veiled thoughts
There is a work that continued this theme - "Swan, Cancer and Pike". Because the characters dragged the cart in different directions, they did not manage to move it, they lacked coherence. The volume of the fable is much less than the "Quartet", but it does not make it worse, it is very capacious in terms of the meaning. The name itself sometimes prompts the reader in which direction to think. After all, during the time of Krylov, it was not so easy to express all of your thoughts in the open, you had to hide them in every possible way. Perfectly approached for this purpose Aesopian language, which is so masterfully manipulated by the author. His contemporaries perfectly understood his hidden allegories. Moreover, the writer does not even have to give characteristics to his characters, all images are borrowed from folklore and, as a rule, they are related to the already established stereotypes. But the most important distinguishing feature of any Krylov fable is its universality, written once for a certain event, it, because of its significance, is actual now. So, for example, the morality of the fable "Quartet" calls us to fight with hypocrisy, swagger, unprofessionalism and irresponsibility.
