Evening prayer - for beginners great spiritual support

When a person begins to believe in God and comes to church, he discovers here a multitude of rules that are well known and habitual for believers and completely incomprehensible to people who are unchurched. At first such a mass of rules seems unnecessary rituals and only later a person realizes that in this way the church puts a kind of spiritual barrier between sin and man.

A person never stands still. Either he rises up, or steadily rolls down in his spiritual state. It was to support a person every day that the church established some prayer rules. This, for example, morning prayers, prayers before meals or evening prayer. For beginners, this all seems far-fetched and superfluous. But in fact, only a regular reminder of God allows you to sometimes resist conviction, anger, lies and petty theft, that is, from the numerous sins that are filled every day.

Morning prayer is a thankfulness to God for life and for awakening. Starting the day with a prayer, a person immediately tunes in a fertile mood and good deeds. He asks for God's blessing for the upcoming activity.

The evening finishes the day. For beginners, any prayer rule can be reduced. For example, the usual evening rule begins with the prayer "Heavenly King." Then comes a brief invocation to God, known as the "Trisagion", then - "Most Holy Trinity" and "Our Father". This is the usual beginning of prayers, almost every prayer begins. Evening prayers are composed by famous church fathers and contain penitential, pleading and thankful appeals.

How long does the evening prayer take? For beginners, the prayer rule is usually shortened. Everything depends on the age and state of human health. For example, children sometimes read only one prayer at night, older people also cut prayers. But in fact, not so much time takes away the evening prayer. The text for a leisurely utterance takes fifteen minutes, yet one should add obeisances, reading a memorial. In general, the usual conscientious leisurely parishioner prays for about half an hour in the evening.

This is quite a bit, so it is quite obvious that evening prayer - for beginners quite feasible burden.

Orthodox visit the temple twice a week and on holidays. To some it seems too onerous. Do not force yourself and immediately try to stand the entire service from beginning to end. Of course, while everything is unclear and unusual, it is extremely difficult to do this. Church Slavonic is an additional complexity. It looks like Russian, but many words are unclear or translated differently. Some read evening prayers in Russian, trying to find a translation service. This is correct: prayer is a conversation with God, it must be understood by the worshiper. But then, when everything is gradually clearing up, it is worth switching to the usual church language.

Evening prayer is a small step for beginners, the first step in the way of churching and finding true joy about God. A step that is not so difficult to pass.
