Environmental management at the enterprise is a regular activity designed to reduce the company's environmental impact.

In addition, the functions of environmental management are the justification of the specific environmental policy of the enterprise and the assessment of the results of its environmental activities. In addition, environmental management is designed to optimize the operation of production facilities, whether agrotechnical, agrarian, energy, transport or technical enterprises in the region (township, city). The tasks of environmental management also include the ecologization of production, consisting in the effective use of waste from one enterprise as a resource for other industries.

The effectiveness of environmental management can be assessed by the level of optimization of district planning to reduce the harmful impact of production facilities on the population of the region, as well as measures for the timely rehabilitation of the population from these impacts.

Also, environmental management should introduce certain restrictions on the construction and operation of potentially hazardous industries that may have a negative impact on the nature and health of the population.
