Drops and spray "Aquamaris" - instructions, indications for use, recommendations

"Aquamaris" - a preparation of natural origin, designed to maintain the normal state of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity. This drug is produced in Croatia by the company "Yadran". The instruction attached to the preparation "Aquamaris" describes its composition as follows: in 100 ml contains 30 ml of purified and sterilized water of the Adriatic Sea and 70 ml of ordinary distilled water. Due to its composition, it contributes to the moistening and softening of the nasal mucosa, as well as its regeneration. This product has no smell, does not contain preservatives and dyes. It is completely harmless and can, if necessary, be recommended for use to children from the first days of life, as well as pregnant women and nursing mothers.

This drug is produced in the form of drops, as well as nasal spray: the latter is indicated for use by adults and children over the year. Only the drops of "Aquamaris" can be recommended to breast children: the instructions clearly indicate the age limitations. This is due, first, to the danger of bronchospasm, which in infants is real - while the lumen of bronchial tubes and bronchioles is reflexively contracted and choking may occur. In addition, the use of sprays at an early age due to a strong head when spraying the drug is fraught with casting mucus into the auditory canals and, as a consequence, the development of otitis. Therefore, the restrictions, which warns the instruction attached to the drug "Aquamaris", can not be ignored. When using the drops of "Aquamaris" for the treatment of newborn children, as well as the prevention of colds in children, care should be taken and only slightly press the bottle.

Drops of "Aquamaris" are indicated for use by children from birth during daily hygienic procedures - cleaning of nasal passages. On the recommendation of the pediatrician, they can be used in hot weather, as well as during the heating season to maintain the nasal mucosa in a hydrated state. In this case, children up to a year are buried in the nose 2 drops 1-3 times a day. Children older than a year with this purpose are injected into the nasal passages of the "Aquamaris" spray: up to seven years - two to three times, from seven to sixteen - up to 4 times a day. The spray is indicated for use by those who spend a long time in air-conditioned rooms, as well as those who work in dusty premises or with corrosive chemicals. For the treatment and prevention of seasonal colds in the cold season it is also recommended to use a spray or drops of "Aquamaris". The manual describes its use in acute and chronic rhinitis, including allergic origin: infants - 2 drops in the nasal passages, 4 times a day, children over the year - 2 injections of the spray as many times, over 7 years - up to 6 once a day. The recommended dose for adults in the treatment of colds is up to 8 times a day. The duration of the application is determined by the doctor, but usually it is at least two weeks. If necessary, repeat the course in a month. This remedy is often prescribed after operations on the nasal cavity.

In addition to the spray and drops of "Aquamaris", the product "Aquamaris Strong" containing only undiluted sea water is also produced. The instruction recommends to use it for hygienic purposes, for cleaning the nasal cavity from microparticles of dust and secretions. Use it as necessary, depending on the situation.

Spray and drops of "Aquamaris" and "Aquamaris Strong" are combined with any medicines. However, when they are used, allergic reactions are possible, although such cases have been reported infrequently. Store these drugs should be at a temperature of no higher than +25 degrees. Use the "Aquamaris" instruction recommends within one and a half months after the opening of the bottle.
