early years

Biography of Ludmila Ulitskaya began in 1943, in Davlekanovo. In this small Bashkir town the parents of the future writer were evacuated from Moscow. The family returned to the capital in 1945. Lyudmila Ulitskaya's father was a doctor of technical sciences, the author of a number of works devoted to agriculture and mechanics. The writer's mother worked for many years at the Research Institute of Pediatrics of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences.

Student years

The graduating school future writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and entered the Faculty of Biology at Moscow State University. Student years, strangely enough, have generated in the heroine of this article the qualities necessary to any prose writer. She learned to meditate, to observe. And one of the teachers - Vladimir Efroimson (Department of Genetics) - became for her an example of parity, diligence, impeccable morality.

Biography of Lyudmila Ulitskaya includes a period of work at the Institute of General Genetics. But for a long time the graduate of the biofaca did not hold out. Two years later she wrote a letter of resignation. The reason for the dismissal was a reprint of samizdat, for which many representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia were punished in the sixties. For some time Ulitskaya did not work. She did not manage to return to scientific work.

The beginning of the creative path

After the dismissal from the Institute, Lyudmila Ulitskaya never again worked in state institutions. After a long search for work, she managed to triple as an artist to the Jewish music theater. Her duties included writing dramatizations. During the time at the theater, Ulitskaya created more than a dozen plays, essays, and also engaged in artistic translation. Years of work in the Jewish theater can be considered the beginning of the writer's work. Lyudmila Ulitskaya, however, began publishing her books much later.

The first work was published in 1993. It was a collection of "Poor Relatives." The next book by Ulitskaya was highly appreciated by critics.

The novel "Medea and her children" has caused a lot of positive reviews both in Russia and abroad. With the creativity of Ulitskaya, the reading part of the country was well known in the eighties, when her stories periodically appeared in literary magazines. At the beginning of the 90's, her films were made with feature films. Thus, the name of Ulitskaya becomes known among those who prefer viewing films to reading prose works.

In 1990, Vladimir Grammatikov produced the film "Liberty Sisters". Over the years, Anatoly Mateshko created the film "Woman for All". The book caused conflicting reviews. One of the British critics accused the writer of inadequate respect for the victims of the Holocaust.

In this marriage two sons - Alexey and Peter - appeared. The first became a businessman. Peter is a jazz musician, but in recent years he has been working as a simultaneous interpreter. Today, the husband of Lyudmila Ulitskaya is Andrey Krasulin, a Russian artist and sculptor.
