Comedy of horrors: both scary and funny

One of the main movie genres comedy is easily interbreed with other genres, such as detective, fantasy, adventure and horror. The comedy of horrors is a film in which comedic episodes organically combine with fragments of horrors, often to this subgenre carry parody films. The fact is that the original fear is as strong an emotion as joy. Horror films cause this powerful emotion. After watching such a movie as a comedy of horrors, the viewer is satisfied to the fullest, because he was amused and frightened, and in general these feelings are similar. And the development of this genre is favored by the introduction of 3D technology. Pay attention to announcements and posters: what is now in 3D format? Fantasy, fairy tales, horror movies, that is, those films where special effects are needed, and there is something to show. To shoot a comedy in the newfangled format is like throwing money away. But frightening is another matter: it's interesting that something from the screen crawls out, jumped out. And in this case the comedy of horrors is an ideal option: fun and entertaining. Nevertheless, despite the flexibility and infinity, the inexhaustibility of subjects and topics, a decent comedy of horrors to remove is not easy. Specificity of the genre requires ingenuity and high skill from the whole creative group: from scriptwriter and director to actors.

The main component of the horror comedy is everyone's familiar black humor, to which the lion's share of cynicism is added. Therefore, most often the whole comic effect consists of unbridled ridicule over death itself, physical and psychological deficiencies, that is, those or other macabre themes. Often the excess of black humor brings the essence of the picture to the point of absurdity. Such black humor is typical for mainstream Hollywood directors: the Cohen brothers "Barton Fink", Robert Zemeckis "Death to her face", Quentin Tarantino's "Mad Dogs" and, of course, Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride". The best comedies-horrors ridicule even sacred or untouchable topics, for example, the Edgar Wright film "Zombie by the Name of Sean." Comedy horror genre can be attributed a lot of unlike each other's paintings, from the film R. Polanski's "Vampire's Ball" to the painting Nobuhiko Obayashi "House."

Comedy-horror, the list is almost endless

From the latest creations of cinema I want to highlight the following films, proudly called the "comedy of horrors":

1. "Slaughter vacations" (2010). According to the story, a group of carefree students (traditionally) will have to face representatives of brutal villagers.
2. "Welcome to Zombiland" (2009). The United States suffers from the invasion of bloodthirsty zombies, a group of survivors decides to make an amusement park their own stronghold, at the same time and be drawn to the full.
3. "Very scary movie" (1,2,3,4). Again, the plot is twisted around a motley company of students, pursued at least by a strange serial killer.
4. "Night of the Living Fools" (2004). Three idiots conduct a ritual Voodoo, returning home, fall into a car accident. When they wake up in the morgue, they realize that they are zombies.
5. "My nanny is a vampire" (2010). The main characters have to fight with the vampires who captured their native school and city.
6. "Faculty" (1998). A smart drive movie. The college is trying to capture aliens, students will have to unite and fight with their converted teachers - a dream, and only.
