Clavulanic acid: action and properties

Clavulanic acid is an antibacterial bactericide belonging to the group of semisynthetic penicillins. The drug has the greatest effect in combination with the drug Amoxicillin, a broad-based antibiotic. This combination has an inhibiting irreversible effect on the activity of beta-lactamases and is used to treat infections of the ENT organs and respiratory tract, skin, urogenital system, joints and bones.
