Cities of the Tula region: Efremov, Venyov, Donskoy

The Tula region is located in the central part of the country and is the southern neighbor of the Moscow region. The transport network here is well developed. Nevertheless, people from the cities of the Tula region travel more than come to them. Positive dynamics in the growth of the population is observed only in three of them. Perhaps the fault is the proximity of the capital?

In total, there are 19 cities in the Tula region. The largest of them is Tula (488 thousand inhabitants). But the town of Chekalin is one of the most sparsely populated in the whole of Russia. The cities of Tula and Novomoskovsk form one large agglomeration, the population of which is more than one million people. Another interesting demographic feature of the Tula region: there are much fewer men here than women (only 44 percent).

The oldest city in the region is Tula (the year of foundation is 1146th), the youngest is Sovetsk (founded in 1949). The most comfortable in the region is Novomoskovsk. At the same time in this city there is an extremely difficult ecological situation.

Efremov

Efremov is a small town in the extreme south of the Tula region. Its history is typical for the cities of European Russia. Originated in the middle of the XVII century as a city-fortress. In 1874, through Efremov railway passed, which connects Tula and Yelets. This event entailed the rapid development of the settlement as a commercial and industrial center.

The city of Efremov in the Tula region can be interesting for tourists. After all, 45 km to the north-west is the historical area of Kulikovo Field - the place where in 1380 the army of Dmitry Donskoy overcame the armada of the Golden Horde. In the city itself, you can also visit the Ivan Bunin Museum - a beautiful one-story house in which the Nobel Prize winner lived and worked for a while.

Donskoy

The city of the Don Tula region is the third largest in the region, located 60 km from Tula. It arose in 1773, and at the end of the 19th century, brown coal deposits began to be developed here, which by the 1960s were already depleted. However, the city did not turn into a depressive one. Today in the former mining capital of the region produce furniture, quality footwear and electrical equipment.

The city of Donskoy of Tula region and the oldest museum in the region, which is located in the historical part of the city, is well-known. In the vicinity of Donskoy, Catherine II founded the "Bobriki" estate at the end of the 18th century. From it there is a wonderful park and the old Spassky church of 1778.

"Golden City" (Tula region)

In the north-eastern part of the region is a small town Venyov. Several temples of the XVIII-XIX centuries are preserved here. However, the most popular tourist attraction is 20 kilometers to the south, near the village of Sergievo. This is the so-called "Golden City" - a tourist complex, created to move its visitors far to the east, to the Celestial Empire.

In the "Golden City" you can see Chinese palaces with tea rooms. The complex has a hotel with a wide range of rooms (from standards to luxury), a spa, restaurants that serve exotic Oriental cuisine.

Finally

The Tula region is located in Central Russia, on the Central Russian Upland. The region has a developed chemical industry, metallurgy, as well as weapons production.

The cities of the Tula region are interesting and original. A total of 19. Some of them were founded in the 12th century (like Belev or Tula), while others are quite young (for example, Sovetsk and Suvorov).
