Chris Humphries and his historical novels

Humphries Chris was born in Toronto. The family moved to the UK when he was 7 years old. All the grandmothers and grandfathers were actors. Chris' father also chose this profession and Chris continued the dynasty - became an actor. For 23 years he performed at the theater venues around the world: from London's West End to Hollywood's Twentieth Century Fox. According to the actor, his favorite roles are Hamlet and Jack in Sheridan's "Contenders".

Child's hobby

Mom always said, says Chris Humphries, that since childhood he behaved as if he was born with a sword in his hand. He was fond of soldiers and, when they lived in California, Zorro was his hero. At the age of three, even photographed in a suit Zorro and in full uniform. When they moved to England, he began to borrow other heroes - D'Artagnan from the "Three Musketeers", the legendary leaders and Vikings from the novels of Henry Tries.

So when he was thirteen and he went to school in Hampstead, Chris was ready to join the fencing team. At the age of sixteen, he became the champion of the saber fencing school, despite being two years younger than the rest of the participants. Trained with three types of weapons - a rapier, sword and saber. But the latter was keen on especially, because she was most suited to his athletic temperament.

Historical novels

Chris Humphries successfully applied his hobby in the writing career, which began in Vancouver with the play "Cage without lattices." The second play, "Reflections of the Moon," written by Humphreys, was a success at the Lunchbox Theater in Calgary. Chris wrote eight historical novels.

"The French executioner" tells of a man whom the King of England invites to decapitate Anne Boleyn, and she asks the executioner to fulfill her last request. In the sequel, "Blood Ties" tells about the reign of Maria Krovova, who wants to accuse Anna's daughter, Princess Elizabeth, of witchcraft. And only the person who executed Anna knows the truth and can help save the life of her daughter.

After the role of Captain Jack, he wrote the trilogy "Jack Absolute". The novel takes place in the 17th century, when the American colonies defended independence in the fight against the British Empire. Captain Absolute is a descendant of the character from the novel The French Executioner, Chris Humphries continued the story of his favorite hero in it.

A novel about the real life of the Wallachian prince "Dracula. The Last Confession "became a bestseller. Chris separated the reality from myths, put into the novel the historical facts of that bloody era. In the book they are set out in the order in which they occurred in life. To write the novel, Humphreys made a research trip to Romania.

Runes saga for children

Chris Humphries wrote the trilogy for teenagers "Runic Stone". As the author himself says, it is an explosive mixture of Scandinavian myths, magic, travels in time and horrors. The first book was published in America in 2006. "Vendetta" - the second book, in August 2007 and the conclusion (Possession) - in August 2008.

A Place Called Armageddon was recently published in Turkey. All novels are published in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and translated into various languages. They cover events that took place in London from 1665 to 1666 - serial killings on religious grounds, the Great Fire of London.

In 2011, I bought a house on the island of Salt Spring (Canada), where Chris Humphries (and Kim Kardashian has nothing to do with the author) lives with his wife and young son.
