Choosing a ritual for the Trinity

To understand such confusion, you need to turn to the history of the holiday. The Holy Trinity came to Russia in about the fifteenth century. On this day it is customary to celebrate and praise the triune of the Lord: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is celebrated on Sunday, following Semik, a pagan day, long revered in Russia. For the Gentiles, this was the time of the heyday of the forces of regeneration and fertility. Therefore, everything that nature has given, participates in the celebration. Houses and yards are decorated with bouquets of wild flowers and fragrant herbs. The use of birch branches was compulsory. This tree was considered a patron and protector of the people from evil spells and diseases. Gradually, herbs and trees began to decorate and temples. It is now customary on the Day of the Holy Trinity to bring to the church bouquets of field plants for consecration. They are stored at home and used to prepare broths for the manifestation of diseases. For the church, such a tradition symbolizes the gratitude of believers to God for the gifted peace.

Female ritual for the Trinity

The awakening and regeneration of nature after winter was associated in the minds of people with female energies. It was a holiday of readiness for the birth of a new life. Therefore, the girls performed rituals, the meaning of which was the willingness of young women to marry and the appearance of children. Some of them are still relevant in our time. What are the girls doing now at the Trinity? Many come to a beautiful birch tree with a gift (usually a ribbon). It is necessary to tie it up on the branches of a tree and ask to give a good mated. Women who have problems with the conception of children, also on this day they bow to the birch tree and ask for healthy offspring. The sacred tree will help to fulfill any desire, conceived during the week before the holiday.

Bread as the main ritual of the Trinity

Many housewives now began to independently bake bread. So, you can prepare the Troitsky loaf, which, as our ancestors believed, is able to soften even the most difficult character, to make a good and gentle evil man. Women are recommended to bake rye bread and put it in front of the icons. Three times to read the "Our Father" and only after that to serve to the table. The remaining pieces should not be thrown away, but dried. They can be used in the event of conflicts or scandals in the family to harmonize the atmosphere. Simply croutons add to any dishes, which will eat all the homemade.

On the tablecloth

In order to renew feelings and strengthen the attraction between the spouses, a certain ritual was performed. At the Trinity, guests were invited to the house. There was a tablecloth in the table. After the festive feast it was not washed, but was hidden under the bed of the spouses. It was believed that it would help make their feelings brighter and stronger.
