Cached data - what is it? What is the cached application data in the phone?

Probably, many users of computers and mobile devices though sometimes, but faced with such concept, as "cached data". What is it, many, frankly, just do not imagine. However, using tips for speeding up any device that has an operating system, they know for sure that the cache needs to be cleaned. This is in part true, but not all data are subject to disposal. It happens that without them some programs installed on the device will simply not work.

What does "cached data" mean in general terms?

So, consider the general concept. Roughly speaking, this term describes the data stored in a computer or mobile system to speed up subsequent access to some applications or sites on the Internet by downloading information, the call of which in the usual way requires more time.

To make it clearer, you can give an example of how cached data is used. What is it, for example, in the case of a user visiting any Internet page on which he looks at photos? This is their copies in the form of thumbnails, which are stored in a special folder on the computer's hard drive or on the internal drive of the mobile device. When you re-enter the page, the user does not have to wait for all the content (for example, graphics, video and, in general, multimedia) to load, since all the elements on the page are added just from the cache directory.

What is the cached data in the phone?

But this was only a general justification. With the Internet, everything is clear. Let's see now what cached application data is in the phone (meaning applets other than web browsers).

Actually, this information is somewhat similar in essence to the stored data from the Internet, but mostly it is related to saving the settings or specific content of any program with which the operating system operates. In order to be a little clearer, let's look at a few examples.

Examples of using the cache

Let's look at some basic types of data that can or can not be deleted. In the first case, this applies to any applications installed in the system, unless for their full-featured operation it is provided for the use of an additional cache that differs from the system cache.

But with the special contents of the cache, which you often need to copy to your phone or tablet yourself, or optionally download from the Internet, the situation is somewhat different.

The simplest example is gaming cached data. What could it be? Yes, anything: additional textures, graphics, video, audio or even the parameters of the game itself. Such information, as is already clear, can not be deleted in any case, because then the game simply will not start or give an error stating that there is not enough of that and that for the start.

The same goes for some music apps for mobile devices. As an example, take FL Studio Mobile. Even the application's own installer does not have everything that is necessary for the sequencer to work. In other words, only the main program shell is installed.

What is the cached application data in the phone relative to programs of this type? These are tool sets, effects, settings for interaction with other applets, parameters for supporting certain audio formats, etc. Typically, this cache is stored in a special obb folder that is on the internal drive, if it is not indicated that it can be placed on a removable card Memory. Places such information takes a lot, but without it the application will be non-functional (which is only one software shell, in which there are no tools or effects?).

Clearing the cache on a mobile device with standard tools

What is the cached data in the phone, we sorted out a little. Now let's look at cleaning up such content, because it has the property of slowing down the system.

In any Android-device there are two tools for clearing the cache. The first is designed to delete data for all applications, the second allows you to clean the cache for only one single applet.

If you want to delete the entire system cache, use the settings menu, which selects the memory partition. When tap on the line of cached data, the system issues a warning that all information will be deleted. We simply agree and wait until the cleaning is completed.

Now a few words about what cached application data is in terms of their removal for a separately selected applet. You can find information on them in the same section of memory, but with the transition to the application menu.

Next, you just need to select the desired applet, and after entering its menu from the bottom, tap on the cache clear button. In general, both the first and the second method look somewhat uncomfortable, since in this case a so-called removal from different sources can be made. Therefore it is better to use special programs.

Using optimizers and cleaners

Today, many programs have been created by analogy with stationary computer systems. In the same repositories of the Play Market or AppStore, you can find not even tens, but hundreds.

Cached data (which is already understandable) can be deleted for the entire system, and for each selected applet.

As for the programs themselves, the most preferable are applications of a narrow focus and applets designed for general optimization. The first ones are represented by such programs as App Cache Cleaner, Auto Cahe Cleaner, etc.

Among optimizers, you can especially highlight mobile versions of CCleaner, All-in-One Toolbox, Clean Master and many others. What exactly to use, it's already a matter of one's own preferences, because each such program has its pluses and minuses.

Instead of the total

That's all about understanding the term "cached data." What is it, it seems, is clear to most users. However, the issue of clearing such information needs to be approached with extreme caution, since for some types of programs, as mentioned above, it may be necessary in the work. But as practice shows, it's better to turn to general-purpose utilities. In them, the cache-clearing tool is a required module. And at their use at the same time it is possible to accelerate also system.
