Burkitt's lymphoma

Over the past two decades, skin lymphoma has been observed more often in medical practice than before. The most common disease in North America, Africa, Israel and Australia. It should be noted that the inherent nature of the development of pathology - as a rule, it occurs against the background of genetic immunodeficiency. This causes the detection of the disease mainly in children and adolescents.

In the risk group are those patients who under certain circumstances (with internal organs or bone marrow transplantation) underwent immunosuppressive therapy. In this case, the disease manifests itself during the first two years after surgery.

Often the disease is detected in people who are prone to any autoimmune diseases. In such cases, patients are also prescribed immunosuppressive therapy. About thirty percent of cases of development of lymphomas occur in AIDS patients treated with special antiviral drugs.

After vaccination, the probability of developing a disease increases by two to four times. This is due to excessive antigenic stimulation. Approximately twice more often, lymphomas are detected in patients with testicular or ovarian tumors, lymphogranulomatosis, who underwent therapy with antineoplastic agents.

Based on the results of the conducted studies, there was established and proved the absence of influence on the development of lymphoma of ionizing radiation. However, pathologies can be formed by the action of electromagnetic radiation with a power exceeding sixty gigahertz.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas develop in individuals whose activities are constantly associated with the influence of carcinogenic factors. The risk group in such cases includes agricultural workers, as well as workers who regularly interact with dioxins, pesticides, phenoxy herbicides, chromphenols and solvents.

The most common form of pathology is Burkitt's lymphoma. This disease is included in the group of the first malignant neoplasms, for which the etiological role of EBV (the Epstein-Barr virus) was proved . With malaria, Burkitt's lymphoma becomes more likely. The use of these or other preventive measures against malaria, according to experts, can significantly reduce the likelihood of lymphoma.

The disease is characterized by the ability to defeat the lymphatic system, blood, bone marrow, cerebrospinal fluid. Burkitt's lymphoma involves the pathological process and the central nervous system.

It should be noted that the disease can develop completely at any age, however, as mentioned above, it is more typical for adolescents and children.

An example of pathology is primarily an increase in lymph nodes or a specific organ. In these areas, malignant cells accumulate in huge numbers. They often seep into the small intestine, which provokes obstruction or bleeding. In some patients, edema of the jaw or neck is revealed, which is usually accompanied by very severe soreness.

Burkitt's lymphoma is diagnosed during biopsy of the affected tissue. Additional studies may be administered to determine the stage at which lymphoma is located.

Treatment involves intensive chemotherapy. In the absence of a timely impact on the course of the pathology, it ends with the death of the patient. The treatment course includes such drugs as Methotrexate, Citarabin, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, and Vincristine. Chemotherapy allows you to heal about eighty percent of patients with a localized form and about seventy percent of patients with moderate pathology.

It should be noted that the disseminated form of the disease is cured in half of the patients. Twenty percent of cases can save patients with CNS lesions. If an intestinal bleeding is detected against the background of the pathology, the patient is assigned an operation to remove the affected area of the organ.
