To make a box for a subwoofer you will need a drill and a jig saw, as well as materials for bonding the structure into one piece, using self-tapping screws and liquid nails. Once the necessary materials and tools have been prepared, you can proceed directly to the work with which you will create a box for your subwoofer yourself.

The very first stage of the work is to determine the type of hull. It can be closed type or with a bass reflex port. When selecting the first option, you will need an amplifier that produces a significant power. To calculate the external dimensions that the subwoofer box will have, special programs such as the Volume Box Calculator will also be used, taking into account the dimensions of the trunk or other place of the car in which you plan to install the subwoofer.

The layout of the sheet and its sawing is performed, for this purpose a jig saw is used, but it is also possible to take a circular saw. It is important that the thickness of the material used is not less than 18 mm.

To the bottom and top of the future box is screwed with self-tapping screws. Then the side halves are attached, in the case of the creation of two subwoofers, the same wall is inserted inward and forms two compartments. Step-by-step collection of the construction is carried out, liquid nails are recommended for tightness.

The size of the holes for the bass reflex should correspond to the size of the speakers used. The bass reflexes can be made from a plastic pipe of the required diameter.

Now it is necessary to carry out the work on the soundproofing of the case. To ensure maximum tightness, it is necessary to carefully glue the bass reflexes, which have a complex shape.

Only after this, you can start installing amplifiers and speakers, the holes through which the wires come out, are also carefully sealed with liquid nails.

Before you connect the car subwoofer, you need to properly position it, which will largely depend on the sound quality. It all depends on the type of body of your car. If in the "sedan" the direction of the subwoofer is more optimal in the middle of the rear seat, then it is necessary to retreat from it by 8 centimeters, then in "universals" it is best to guide it back, and for the "hatchback" it is necessary to direct the subwoofer upwards or towards the trunk.
