Boris Sichkin is a Soviet comedian, the legendary Buba of Kastor

Soviet actor Boris Sichkin was born in Kiev on August 18, 1922. When the boy was four years old, his father died. The elder brother undertook to teach five-year-old Borya dances to somehow make a living. The first performances of the dancing duet Sichkin were held in the bazaar. And then the brothers began to speak on a separate site before the criminals who were gathering there. These spectators paid well.

Study and work in the ensemble

At the age of fifteen, Boris Sichkin submitted documents to the Kiev School of Choreography and, simultaneously with his studies, began to dance in the Folk Dance Ensemble of the Ukrainian SSR. The young artist quickly became a favorite of the whole collective, he had a cheerful benevolent character and a great desire to succeed.

Before the war, Boris Sichkin was accepted into the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Kiev Military District. During the war he was a member of the front-line ensemble, in which he worked together with Yefim Berezin, Yuri Timoshenko and choreographer Boris Kamenkovich. For the highly artistic performance of popular folk dances, the artist Sichkina was awarded the medal "For Military Merit". The young artist was proud of the award and tried in every possible way to prove himself.

In 1947 - 48 years Boris Sichkin was a soloist in the Ensemble named after Aleksandrov, then, from 1948 to 1966, worked in the Moscow Concert. Participated in the programs of a jazz ensemble under Eddie Rozner. Acted as a choreographer when staging choreographic scenes and numbers. The greatest fame Sichkin Boris Mikhailovich received after the performance in the role of the Bubba Kastorisky.

False accusation

In 1973, Sichkina was arrested on charges of appropriating state property. Later, the article was re-qualified as "Theft of state property on a particularly large scale." Boris Sichkin received a term and was sent to prison. However, a year later he was released. The case was not closed, but sent for additional investigation. A few more years the investigators unraveled the case of embezzlement, but Sichkin's guilt was not there. Soon he was justified finally.

Emigration

In 1979, Buba Kastorsky left for the United States. After settling in New York, on Brighton Beach, he became a member of the editorial board of the newspaper "Russian Bazaar." In 1994, the artist came to Russia to meet friends and earn a little. Using his connections, Sichkin starred in several films. A year later he returned to America.

The last few years of his life, Boris Moiseyevich spent in an economy-class house for the poor in the Queens area in the west of New York. March 21, 2002 Sichkin died of an extensive heart attack. He was buried in a cemetery in America, but a few years later, at the insistence of his wife and close relatives, exhumed. The remains were cremated, and the ashes were transported to Moscow. On April 18, 2008, the ritual urn was solemnly placed in a separate columbarium cell at the Vagankovskoye cemetery.
