Black screen when you boot Windows 7: how to fix?

Currently, a considerable number of Windows 7 users have met with a new scourge. This convenient operating system, capable of automatic updating, is quickly gaining popularity. But while it really is not all as smooth as we would like. And more and more common is the problem with the black screen when you boot Windows 7. Often the problem starts to appear after one of the automatic updates. Although this version of events is unofficial, a certain assumption from Microsoft is still present.

However, Microsoft itself persistently denies this fact and is still conducting research, slowly issuing conclusions. And, most importantly, somehow help users with problem resolution. However, a security hole allows malicious programs to make changes to the system. Or rather - in the holy of holies, the registry. After such an intervention, the same infamous black screen appears when you boot Windows 7.

The reason that causes a black screen when you start Windows 7

Independent experts have already conducted their own expertise. In her course, it turned out that the main trouble is in some features of data storage registry, which has a new system. The vulnerability is related to the value of Shell. With some changes it is not handled correctly, which results in a frightening black screen when Windows 7 is loaded. The wallpaper, taskbar, sidebar - nothing is loaded. In rare cases, you can see unless the Explorer window, and then if it is not minimized. Otherwise, the latter will also sink into obscurity.

Solution

How can I remove a black screen when I boot Windows 7? There are several ways to solve this unpleasant problem. Unfortunately, most of them turned out to be ineffective. The most popular option, which has successfully proved itself and helped more than one dozen users, is as follows. With the combination of three keys (Shift + Ctrl + Esc), you should call the task manager. It selects the command to execute a new task (file -> execute). After these actions the window in which it is necessary to enter a command regedit should open.

This command calls and allows you to view the Registry Editor. We need the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> SOFTWARE-> Microsoft-> WindowsNT-> CurrentVersion-> Winlogon branch. On the right there will be its contents, where it remains to find the notorious Shell key and double-click on it with the left mouse button. All that should be in the window that opens after this is the one meaning of "explorer.exe". Perhaps there will be values with other names. They can all be (and even need) deleted.

In the event that no extra values were found, the Shell key itself needs to be removed and recreated. It is not difficult to do this. In the area where the key was located, you need to right-click the mouse and open the corresponding menu. It will have the option of "create". We need to create a string parameter with a similar remote key name (Shell).

Black screen when loading Windows xp

This phenomenon is also not uncommon. A black screen may appear after you install the third service pack (Service Pack 3). Or the first one that tries to install on top of Service Pack 2. The incompatibility of some elements of the system causes similar problems at boot. The appearance of the downloaded image is the same as in the case of problems with Windows 7: an absolutely black screen with no icons, a start panel and a background. Only the Explorer icon remains.

Most often the reason for the appearance of an empty black screen is the presence of dangerous viruses in the system. Elimination in this case is connected with the disposal of the computer from this scourge. The solution uses a small patch of Prevx, which takes only about 50 KB. Convenience is that when you run the program itself produces all the necessary actions. Sometimes it helps to restore the system from the boot disk.

Another good utility is called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It is suitable for owners of any Windows operating system and will check their system for viruses. After all, even the most reliable and reliable antivirus program does not guarantee 100% protection. Therefore, it does not hurt to check the contents of the computer with a specialized utility for detecting Trojan viruses.
