The first great novel by Stephen Edwin King, which brought success to the author, was "caught" from the garbage basket by the wife of the prose writer. The husband considered Carrie an unsuccessful experience and threw out the manuscript. Only thanks to the visionary Tabitha, who forced her second half to finish and try to publish the work, the debut of the king of horrors took place already then. Almost immediately the book was moved to the big screen. This was done by the current classics of cinema Brian de Palma. Despite the considerable age, "Carrie" is considered one of the best adaptations of the writer's works. Then there will be a lot of them. And in 1986, the only time King himself tried to take a director's chair. It was the movie "Maximum acceleration". A man in a hat and glasses is the first character to appear in the frame. This is his machine for issuing money took and called a cretin. This is Steven. The author sometimes allows himself mini-roles in films, to which he himself put his hand (you can recall "The Cemetery of Pets", "Langoliers", "Slimming"). "Maximum acceleration" is a fantasy on the topic of the story "Trucks", produced by the eminent Dino De Laurentiis.

Rise of the Machines?

Our planet was touched by the tail of a huge comet, which caused terrible consequences. The bridge that connects the two banks - two routes of a large traffic intersection - suddenly began to rise up for nothing, having created a real mess from cars, cargo and corpses. But it was a warm-up, the maximum acceleration of the disaster is yet to come. Vending machines selling cigarettes and other small items began to spew their "insides", and then another and beat the current. The pump at the gas station "spat" into the face of the worker's savory jet of diesel fuel and tried to burn his eyes. Electronozh carnivorous bite into the hand of an unsuspecting waitress ... The "leaders" of all this mechanical lawlessness were cars that develop maximum acceleration and squeeze people indiscriminately. Mechanical insanity is confronted by a small company, hiding in a roadside eatery near the most frenzied gas station.

Who will win?

By coincidence, a simple guy, William Robinson, one of the kitchen workers in the cafe, had to head this little bulwark against nuts. His role was played by the actor, director, screenwriter, representative of the glorious creative dynasty Emilio Esteves. Two of Esteves are best known: the head of the family Martin Sheen and his son Charlie Sheen (it's interesting that Charlie first shot under his real name Carlos Esteves only this year in the Rodriguez action movie "Machete Kills"). Sister Emilio René and the other brother Ramon are also actors. Emilio also remembered the audience for the western "Young Arrows", he starred in a parody of "Lethal Weapon" ("Charged Weapons").

In some sources, it passes like the movie "Maximum acceleration 2", although the work of director Chris Thomson is not directly the sequel to the movie predecessor. This project remained almost unnoticed. Perhaps, because it lacked the charisma of the director-King and the impressive musical accompaniment of the immortal group "AC / DC", which gives the picture a truly maximum acceleration?
