"Beef Wellington": how to cook at home?

  • Beef fillets as fresh as possible - about 700 g (without veins, bones and other inedible elements);
  • Twigs of thyme - to taste;
  • Mushrooms fleshy in fresh form - 200 g;

  • Onion white - 2 heads;
  • Salt is fine - to taste;
  • Bacon - about 12-13 slices;
  • Dough without yeast puff - about 250-300 g;
  • Wet mustard - 2 large spoons;
  • Egg chicken - 1 small (for lubricating the dough);
  • Olive oil - at your discretion.

Pretreatment of components

Where should you start to prepare the Beef Wellington dish? To begin with, it is necessary to cut fresh mushrooms and white onions into quarters. Next, both products are placed in a bowl of a blender and ground to a stuffing state. Also to your taste, pepper and salt are added.

Separately, prepare and fresh beef. A good and dense piece is thoroughly washed and dried using ordinary paper towels. After this, the beef product is rubbed with pepper and salt and left in the heat for 30 minutes.

Frying the components on the stove

The dish "Beef Wellington", the recipe of which we are considering, is very juicy and tasty. After the main ingredients have been prepared, proceed to their frying on the stove.

The cast-iron frying pan is thoroughly heated on high heat, and then olive oil is added. Next, put a bowl of mushroom stuffing in the dishes and prepare it to a golden state, stirring regularly with a spoon.

At the very end, mushrooms with onions are tasted. If necessary, add spices to them.

After the mince is roasted, it is carefully laid out in a separate bowl, and a little more oil is poured into the pan. Throwing a couple of twigs of thyme in a hot scoop, wait a few seconds. Further on top of them spread the fillet of beef.

The meat is fried on very high fire from all sides. At the same time they achieve the appearance of golden crust. Puncture beef with a fork or knife is not recommended. Otherwise, all of its juice will flow into the pan.

As soon as the meat gets an appetizing crust, it is taken out and left out.

The formation process

Do you know about the formation of the Beef Wellington? For this, a flat surface is covered with a food film, and also slices of bacon are laid on it. At the same time, they are to ensure that they slightly overlap each other.

How much should be cooked beef meat? "Beef Wellington" is a special dish that does not require long heat treatment.

After the semi-finished product is kept in the refrigerator, it is carefully moved to a baking tray with parchment paper and greased with a beaten egg. Such processing will allow to receive more beautiful and unusual dish.

Bake a meat dinner in the oven preferably at a temperature of 180-190 degrees. The cooking time of the Beef Wellington depends on the degree of roast meat you like. However, please note that the puff pastry is baked fairly quickly. Therefore, most housewives cook this dish in the oven for about 20-30 minutes.
