AKB is ... Explanation of the abbreviation. Multivalued terms

As you know, there are many different abbreviations. Many of them are understandable at first sight, since they are deciphered only in a single variant. However, there are some cuts that are difficult to guess, especially if they mean several things at once. For example, the abbreviation AKB is a term that simultaneously refers to absolutely different spheres and is also deciphered in different ways. It is worthwhile to consider in more detail, in what spheres this abbreviation is used and what it means.

How to decipher the battery

As already mentioned above, there are several options for treating the reduction. This issue really should be paid attention, since, having met with such an abbreviation in life, it is better to understand exactly what it is all about. So, now we need to identify the main directions, where this reduction is used.

First, the battery is a rechargeable battery. In a more narrow sense - a car battery, that is a kind of electric battery, which is used in road transport.

Secondly, AKB is a joint-stock commercial bank. Such a bank is a credit organization that carries out banking operations and serves a wide range of individuals (both physical and legal).

Thus, it becomes more clear in which spheres one can consider this abbreviation.

AKB in the technical sphere

So, it is worthwhile to consider in more detail the term AKB in the light of automotive subjects. The car battery is widely used with the development of the automotive industry. It is needed as an additional source of electricity when the engine is not running, and also to start it.

Such a battery has its characteristics, which are mainly determined by the voltage. There are several types of car battery:

  • 6 Volts.

Cars with such a battery were produced until the end of the 1940s. Now batteries with a voltage of 6 volts are used only on light motor vehicles.

  • 12 volts.

At present, such a battery is used on all cars, as well as in trucks and buses with a gasoline engine. In addition, most motorcycles have batteries with a voltage of 12 volts.

  • 24 Volts.

Batteries with a voltage of 24 volts are used in trolleybuses, trams, trucks with diesel engines and, what is especially interesting, on military equipment with diesel engines.

Battery capacity: small overview

Of course, like any battery, a car battery has a concept of capacity. This is another important characteristic of the battery, which determines its basic properties. The capacity of the battery is measured in units such as ampere hours.

The capacitance value, which is presented on the battery, shows how the battery will be discharged evenly to the final voltage with a discharge cycle of 20 or 10 hours.

Another feature related to capacitance - the higher the discharge currents, the faster the discharge time.

Now you should consider how to choose the appropriate battery capacity. It is selected taking into account several parameters:

  • Engine capacity (the larger the volume, the greater the capacity required);
  • Conditions of operation (the colder the weather conditions in the region, the greater the capacity should be);
  • Engine type (for a diesel engine, the battery capacity should be greater than for a gasoline engine with the same volume).

Types of car battery

At automobile АКБ there is a weight of additional characteristics which essentially influence its type.

The first characteristic is the size of the battery. The history of the development of automotive technology has shown that in many cases, when developing a new model or even a brand of cars, it was often necessary to create a special new battery. In this regard, a whole set of documentation was developed. Currently, several types of batteries are produced, they differ markedly among Japanese and European manufacturers.

The second characteristic is the diameter of the contact terminals. The size of the battery terminal is different in different batteries. There are 2 developed standards: type Euro-type 1 and Asia-type 3. In the first case, their sizes: 19.5 mm for "plus" and 17.9 mm for "negative". Dimensions of the battery terminal in the second type: 12.7 mm in "plus" and 11.1 mm in "negative".

The third important parameter is the type of battery. For the most part, lead-acid is used.

Another characteristic that should be talked about separately is the need to maintain the battery.

Battery maintenance - how often it is needed

Many people care about the maintenance of batteries. Which is not surprising, because AKB is really a complex system, which sometimes requires special care.

Thus, we can distinguish 2 large groups of batteries:

  • Serviced;
  • Unattended.

Serviced - this is a simpler in the construction of batteries, which periodically need to monitor the state of the electrolyte. Also, battery charging is required from time to time. It is carried out by a specially developed technology, using a stationary charger. At large enterprises such actions are carried out by trained workers. For this purpose, there are even entire charging stations. Thus, charging the battery is a necessary process for its operation.

Now you should turn to the second group - unattended batteries. If you judge only by their name, you might think that such a battery does not need care at all. However, this is not entirely true, on batteries of this type, it is also necessary to control factors such as the density of the electrolyte, the tightness of the battery case itself, and others.

So, the battery is a rather complicated detail, which plays an important role in the functioning of vehicles.

AKB in the banking system

Now it's time to consider the abbreviation of AKB from a different point of view. As already mentioned at the beginning of the article, AKB is a bank (a credit institution) that carries out various banking operations. Such institutions perform the following operations: payment, settlement, securities market and various intermediary.

АКБ receive the profit as a result of that interest rates under the credits given out by them noticeably exceed rates on contributions. This profit is called margin.

The word "commercial", which is included in the abbreviation, means that the main purpose of the AKB's activities is profit.

However, there are banking organizations that specialize more on any particular services provided.

Joint-stock commercial banks in Russia

There are many such organizations in Russia. If you turn to history, the first private bank in our country was the St. Petersburg private commercial bank. Then this form of organization began to develop actively. However, the end of such a variety of banking organizations was laid in 1917, when all banks were nationalized.

Now in Russia there is a lot of AKB. Among them you can hear very famous names, for example:

  • JSCB "Bank of Moscow".
  • AKB Avangard.
  • Absolut Bank.
  • AKB Svyaz-Bank.
  • JSCB Promsvyazbank and many others.

Other abbreviation of battery

In addition to the already considered banking and technical spheres, sometimes this reduction is also used in the field of sales. Here AKB is an active client base. In many organizations, a whole plan is drawn up for it, which covers the extension of the base and further work with it. The purpose of this work is to increase the sales level of any company.
