Childhood and youth

Moskvin Ivan Mikhailovich was born on June 18, 1874. The future artist was born in the family of a watchmaker and an ordinary housewife. In addition to our hero, in a small house on the street Ilinskoy brought up eight more children. Of them, only a younger son named Mikhail was a good educator. Ivan was lucky to study at the City College, which he graduated in 1890. Then he had to immediately experience all the hardships of adulthood. In his youth, Ivan Moskvin served as an assistant in the trade organization of the merchant Kalashnikov, where in fact he was a "runaway boy". Then our hero was in charge of the order picker and the iron weigher at the metal casting plant.

In his spare time Ivan Moskvin attended church services in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Here the boy went with his sister, each time walking seventy miles. Church songs were to Ivan's liking. It was the impressions received from visiting religious services that prompted the young man to think about becoming an artist.

In 1893, Ivan Moskvin was enrolled in the Music and Drama School. Here he studied in the class of the famous theater director V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko. Having received the diploma, the beginning artist began to take part in theatrical entreprises.

The beginning of the creative path

In 1896, at the final examinations of the Musical and Dramatic School, Ivan Moskvin, the actor, received an assignment from his mentor Nemirovich-Danchenko to play several roles, which differed in content to his stage character. Ironically, our hero managed to successfully reveal the images of diametrically opposite characters in the plays "Nora", "Festive dream before lunch" and "In the old days". Theater critics immediately started talking about Ivan as an extremely capable pupil of the great teacher Nemirovich-Danchenko.

In the spring of the same 1896, Moskvin received an offer to go to the professional troupe in Tambov. It was at local sites that the first serious tests of Ivan Mikhailovich took place as a theatrical artist.

After successful debut performances, the young actor went to Yaroslavl, where he was in the troupe ZA. Malinovsky. Here during one season Moskvin played more than seventy roles. Local theater critics immediately began to prophesy Ivan a great future.

Career development

Beginning in 1897, Ivan Moskvin began to play in a fairly respectable theater near Moscow in the town of Kuskovo. This place attracted our hero by its proximity to the capital. In the following season, the young artist moved to the theatrical troupe Korsha, which was located in one of the buildings of the Theological Lane of Moscow.

In 1898 a reunion of the actor with his former mentor Nemirovich-Danchenko occurred, which was just opening a new Art Theater. Soon Moskvin declared himself as a mature, masterovit artist, performing the main role in the production of "Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich". Later this image became a real business card of the actor.

In 1906, Ivan Mikhailovich first went on tour abroad. Success came to the artist after the first performances. In the foreign press, two names were most often noted: the producer of plays by KS. Stanislavsky and the actor IM. Moskvina. Particularly fell in love with the actor's game to the public from Berlin. Local theatergoers immediately dubbed our hero a brilliant artist.

Debut in the cinema

Ivan Moskvin lit up in the national cinema in 1919. During this period, the famous theater artist was invited to the role of the main character named Polikey in the picture "Polikushka", based on the story of the classic of the national literature - Leo Tolstoy. Participation in the work on the creation of the tape once again glorified Ivan Mikhailovich. Subsequently, the film "Polikushka" acquired the status of the first Soviet film, which received international recognition.

In 1925, Moskvin decided to try himself as a director. The first work for Ivan Mikhailovich in this field was the film "College Recorder." The artist acted not only as a director of an artistic tape, but also played the main role of a character named Simeon Vyrin.
