10 books that help fight narcissism

Narcissism is a concept that means excessive narcissism. Someone is able to see in himself such a character trait and start fighting it, but someone does not care. Nevertheless, most people are faced with narcissi. You can work with them, be in any relationship, or live at all. In any case, one should struggle with narcissism.

If you notice that egocentrism is one of the features of your character, then we recommend that you read the books described below. If you know people-narcissists and constantly come across them, then gently advise (you can even give) these works.

Where to begin?

There is one wonderful but little-known writer, Wendy Behari. He wrote a book that literally translates as "Disarming the narcissist". Here are described the methods by which you can work on narcissistic people, and also describes the tactics of communicating with them.

The next book to be addressed is Elan Golomb's book Trapped in the Mirror. This work is recommended for reading for parents with a family of narcissus. The work contains a step-by-step description of the behavior of a narcissist at different stages of development.

Alan Burstein revealed the problem of narcissism on the other hand in the book "Emotional Vampires." If you often interact with the daffodil and after getting tired of it and feel exhausted, then you should read this book.

Narcissism should be given a fight!

Above we have already spoken about emotional vampirism, which is one of the features of narcissus behavior. However, this is not all. There is such a thing as emotional blackmail. If you feel that your interlocutor is self-centered and not interested in your desires, then it is worthwhile to master Susan Forward's book "Emotional blackmail."

An interesting title is the following book by Karin McBride. The literal translation of the work is as follows: "Will I ever be good enough? The healing of the daughters of narcissistic mothers." If the mother is too selfish, this can affect the personality of her daughter. Complexes can develop from lack of attention.

"Children who have gone into themselves: an adult guide to fighting narcissistic parents," Nina Brown's book. It treats roughly the same problems that were described in the previous book.

Narcissism is "inherited"?

Most of the principles and attitudes we take out of the family. Stephanie Pressman in his book "Narcissistic Family: A Handbook on Treatment" considers narcissism a diagnosis. The author compares the egocentrism of people-narcissists, their emotional state with alcoholism. Two "dependencies" are discussed in the book in parallel.

Susan Forward, whose name we have already met, in the book "Toxic Parents" gives advice to children who constantly have to feel guilty or tense when communicating with their parents. A narcissist is only one type of toxic person.

Self-love: can not be tolerated, eradicated

Sam Vaknin recognized himself as a narcissist. In the book "Malignant narcissism" it allows readers to penetrate the mind, into the vision of the world of narcissist man. We see it as if "from within". That's why how narcissus behaves, may not seem so alien. Behind narcissism is always a psychological problem or trauma, and Vacnin dedicates us to it.

Sandy Hotchkis lists "the seven deadly sins" of narcissism in the book "Infernal Cobweb". Readers' comments indicate that the book is easily and quickly read, and most importantly, makes you think about your own personality. Yes, there are plenty of narcissistic people, but am I specifically among them? In the same book Hotchkis gives advice on how to survive in the world of narcissism.

The above books will help you cope with your own narcissism, be cured of this ailment and make yourself better, free from the yoke of narcissism. Also, books are taught how to live with narcissist people and how to re-educate them.

It is also worth noting that the books colorfully describe what narcissism may threaten, how this can affect the children of daffodil parents, in people who are in love with narcissists, etc. At the same time, books will tell how daffodils are strong and how They are recognized among friends and acquaintances.

The above books are a useful reading for any reader. Improve yourself!
