ПФ 115: technical characteristics, consumption, temperature

Among the leading paint and varnish coatings intended for the construction industry, the most popular is the paint with the PF-115 marking. The popularity of this product is determined by the development and implementation of high-quality mixtures in its production. They have increased performance characteristics, contribute to greater resistance of the enamel to abrasion and moisture, prolong the life of the coating.

Purpose and marking

Enamel with marking PF-115 is a universal coating designed for external and internal finishing of wooden or metal surfaces. It can be used as an independent coating or integrated with various types of primers. The coating is based on pentaphthalic varnish.

According to generally established rules, all finished paint products have a symbol or marking. Due to this, the consumer can independently determine the composition, purpose, scope of the product. The marking of paint PF-115 consists of five elements. The first is the kind of material - enamel. The second is the abbreviation PF, denoting the name of the binding components of the composition - pentaphthalene (alkyd resins). Digital indices represent the color scale.

Components and properties

High-quality raw materials used in the manufacture of products, provides enamel PF-115 characteristics that allow it to be used for finishing different types of surfaces. This coating includes a finely dispersed suspension of pigments, various desiccants and fillers. To quickly dry the surface to be painted in the enamel, linoleates are added, consisting of metals such as cerussite, pyrolusite, cobalt. In order that the paint does not exfoliate and the film does not form on it, additives with emulsifying properties are included in the composition.

All of the above components determine the PF-115 technical characteristics that promote viscosity, water resistance, weather resistance, various industrial oils, fading, temperature changes (-50 to +60 ºС).

Manufactured products undergo quality inspection in the laboratories of the enterprise. Therefore, the enamel PF-115 technical characteristics are consistent with GOST. They provide:

  • Film shine - not less than 50%;
  • The amount of non-volatile substances is 49-70%;
  • At a temperature of 20 ° C, the drying time is a day;
  • Impact resistance - not less than 40 cm;
  • The adhesion of the film is no more than 1 point;
  • When bending, the elasticity of the film is not more than 1 mm;
  • Viscosity 60-120;
  • Time of exposure of substances in hours at a temperature of 20 ° C: water - 2, oil - 24, detergent - 15.

Due to the fact that it contains pentafle varnish PF-115, the technical characteristics are highly toxic and fire dangerous. In this regard, when performing the finishing work, fire safety rules and precautions must be observed.

Application

Pentafthal paints perform the finishing of wood, metals, internal and external surfaces of various structures. The manufacturer presents a diverse color palette of enamels designed for finishing works: white (having two degrees of whiteness), black, blue, red, gray, beige. Original colors are called blue spruce, red lilac, emerald, honey, lemon and other colors with glossy or matte film. Prices for PF-115, which is produced in the RAL catalog, is higher than for standard colors in accordance with GOST.

A wide application of lacquer PF-115, the technical characteristics of which contribute to the increased strength of the surface layer and its resistance to abrasion. Thanks to the components available in its composition, it is used for finishing not only wooden and metal, but also concrete, brick structures. Inside the premises, windows, doors, radiators and heating pipes are painted. In the construction sector, enamel is used as a cover for socles and facades of residential buildings and other structures.

Surface preparation

PF-115 paint, technical characteristics of it, rather, require proper preparation of the surface to be painted. Preliminary preparatory work should be carried out.

  1. The surface is cleaned from the old fragile coating, dust, dirt, and degreased.
  2. Wooden structures are treated with sandpaper, if necessary, ground.
  3. The surfaces of wood are treated with linseed oil.
  4. Metal structures are first cleaned of corrosion, and then degreased. Then they are primed using the following primer types : GF-0119, GF-02, GF-023. Fat dirt from the surface can be washed with detergent, water and soap or soda solution (1 tablespoon of soda per 1 liter of water). Cretaceous or calcareous coatings are cleaned until they are completely removed.

Preparation of enamel

Paint thoroughly before use. If necessary, you can dilute it with a solvent. To do this, use a solvent, white spirit, turpentine. For painting by electrostatic spraying, a diluent RE4B or RE3B is used.

Methods of application and material consumption

The versatility of the PF-115 (its technical characteristics are quite high) promotes application to the surface to be treated at an ambient temperature of +5 to + 35º C using such methods: brush, pneumatic spray, brush, roller, dipping. Painting of metal structures is carried out after the primer has dried in 2 layers of enamel.

On wooden, brick, concrete surfaces, as well as on plaster or old coatings, the paint is applied in two or three layers. The thickness of one of them is 18-23 microns, depending on the surface structure and the color of the composition. Has such PF-115 technical characteristics: the consumption of the material is 100-180 grams per 1 m 2 of the painted area in one layer.

Interlayer drying at a temperature of 20 ° C lasts 24 hours. For one hour, it is possible to dry the coating on which PF-115 paint is applied, technical characteristics. The temperature for this should be 100-110 ° C. After drying, a glossy, smooth, homogeneous surface is formed without delamination and imperfection.

Enamel film is resistant to abrasion, perfectly protects the surface, gives it a beautiful aesthetic appearance. Its operational and decorative properties inside the premises are preserved for 5 years. The service life of the outer cover in the temperate and cold climate is about 4 years, and in the tropical one - 1 year. Enamel is combined with almost all paint and varnish coatings.

Precautionary measures

Finishing works with enamel are carried out only with the use of personal protective equipment. If the paint gets on the skin, it should be washed off with running warm water and soap. Ventilation must be good. Doing work should be far from open sources of fire.

Storage and containers

Enamel should be stored in a tightly closed container at a temperature of -40ºC to + 40ºC in places not accessible to children. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of issue.

Manufacturers produce PF-115 in industrial containers and tin cans. In the trading network it is supplied in a large packing (barrels, drums) and in shallow 800 g, 1000 g, 2300 g, 2800 g.
