Zinc sulfate: use in medicine

Zinc in our body is present in one way or another in almost every organ - from the eye to the skin. It is a part of more than 200 enzymes (for example, insulin), and its lack leads to various pathological conditions. Here are some of the symptoms: hair loss until baldness, acne, skin suppuration, brittle nails, unhealthy complexion, diarrhea, lethargy, severe fatigue, conjunctivitis, decreased potency, gingivitis, infertility and even prostate adenoma. Is the list impressive?

A person gets this mineral with food, but in extremely small quantities. Its natural sources are oysters and shrimp, sea fish (herring, mackerel), liver, mushrooms, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. The body needs to receive about 20 milligrams daily, but this does not happen because of the majority's unconscious attitude towards one's own health. Therefore, medical products containing zinc sulfate (Zinc Sulphate) are in demand.

What is the indication for use

Preparations are prescribed for external use (drops, solutions), inside (tablets), rectally (suppositories).

Zinc sulfate (tablets) is prescribed for internal reception, when it is necessary to induce vomiting, with immunological disorders, for the therapy and prevention of anabolic and other processes.

It is present in complex treatment: cerebral palsy, cases of alopecia (stimulates hair growth), liver cirrhosis, chemotherapy courses, treatment of dermatoses (promotes skin regeneration), diabetes mellitus. Zinc maintains the level of vitamin A in the blood, prolongs the action of insulin, contributing to its accumulation in tissues.

Zinc sulfate (Zn2 +) promotes the process of skin regeneration, the transfer of nerve impulses, the synthesis of cortisol, has a pronounced antimicrobial activity. Stimulates the work of enzyme systems, for example, the production of alkaline phosphatase, ACE, carbonic anhydrase and other enzymes.

In general, zinc-containing drugs are prescribed with the established deficiency of this mineral in the body. Zinc sulfate is used in the treatment of eye diseases and chronic catarrhal laryngitis.

Scientific developments

Japanese doctors have developed a unique preparation based on zinc ("Polaprezink"), which treats ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenum, which can not be treated with other drugs.

We are successfully working on the creation of new zinc-containing drugs that will combat prostate adenoma, psoriasis, coronary heart disease and other pathologies peculiar to elderly people.

Method of application of drugs with zinc and dose

Take tablets in which zinc sulfate is present, strictly according to the prescription of the doctor. The drug is taken either during meals or after, but they never drink on an empty stomach. Tablets can not be chewed or divided.

In the treatment of fungal skin lesions, zinc-containing ointments are used.

With conjunctivitis appoint eye drops (0.1-0.5%), with vaginitis and urethritis - a solution (0.1-0.5%) for syringing, and with laryngitis prescribed 0.5% solution for lubricating the throat.

Zinc sulfate in tablets is indicated for lack of zinc in the body: for prevention - up to 15 mg once a day, with therapy - 20-50 mg twice a day. In order to induce vomiting, it is necessary to take 100 to 300 mg of this drug once.
