Buses from Yaroslavl to Vologda go quite often, mostly in the evening, many pass through Danilov and Gryazovets. The ticket price reaches 400 rubles, the time on the trip is about three hours. You can also take advantage of the currently popular search service fellow travelers and for a very symbolic fee to reach the destination with a pleasant company of strangers. To travel from Yaroslavl to Vologda by electric train will be slightly more expensive at a price and a bit longer in time.

The nature of central Russia

The distance from Yaroslavl to Vologda though is quite large, but it is beautifully brightened by landscapes floating past the bus window. Central Russia is famous for the real Russian atmosphere from traditional folk tales - fresh birches, wide fields, a light blue sky, a warm breeze. If the journey takes place in the winter, then the sight of the beautiful Russian winter will also please tourists.

Historical city

A trip through the historical city of Yaroslavl, of course, you need to start with a walk along the Volga embankment - the symbol of the city. It strikes with its breadth and wonderfully fresh air - it's easy to breathe. There are many fountains erected here, which give a few "St. Petersburg" colors to this place. On the embankment there are always a lot of people - whether it is summer or winter, everyone comes here to enjoy the natural oasis and fresh wind from Strelka - the place of the confluence of the local river Kotorosli with the great Volga-mother.

Architectural buildings are represented by a variety of churches and monasteries that carry a historical Orthodox heritage. Many buildings rise above Yaroslavl land for more than ten centuries and still take under their arches pilgrims and tourists. Each church in Yaroslavl is similar to a museum - in them one can see innumerable ancient frescoes and icons, which, undoubtedly, will cause admiration.

Of the unusual places that are worth visiting in Yaroslavl, you can note everyone's favorite "Horse in apples" - a sculpture opposite the "Millennium Park". The horse is made of ordinary metal, its muzzle is very good-natured, its kind of sculpture raises the mood, and despite the simplicity of this figure, residents and visitors of the city are very fond of taking photos with him. A halo of superstitions enveloped the monument to a penny in 1612. A penny the size of a large balloon spins around its axis, and they say that if you take care of it, then financial well-being will not keep you waiting.

After completing the excursion and planning the way from Yaroslavl to Vologda, you can refresh yourself with branded Yaroslavl ice cream and safely continue the journey.

The Vologda side

The heart of the Vologda region is the Vologda Kremlin. All residents know about it, but the structure can not be seen. It was built on the orders of Tsar Ivan the Terrible as a fortress wall and washed away after the Volga flood in the 17th century. Now at this place is the architectural complex of the Arch-Yard, and the vast territory is a forest park.

Of course, the most famous craft of Vologda is considered to be lace. To visit the museum of lace craftsmanship will be not only interesting, but also informative - master classes are often held here, so there is a great chance to get on it and be dedicated to the sacrament of lacework.

As in Yaroslavl, Vologda has a flourishing church architecture, represented by ancient cathedrals, monasteries and temples. For example, the Spaso-Prilutsky monastery, founded by Dmitry Prilutsky, a disciple of Sergius of Radonezh, will be interesting for the tourist. The most ancient and main cathedral of Vologda is St. Sophia Cathedral, which is famous throughout the country for the biggest fresco "The Last Judgment".

Also Vologda can present to the tourist and modern art objects, such as "Monument to the letter O" (like the Permian "P") and "Bird-talker" from the Soviet cartoon. The most interesting thing may seem to be a monument to an electric lantern, made in the style of realism - a sort of everyday sketch where the dog marked a pillar.

Quite deservedly, many tourists assign the title of the symbol of the city to the bench "Let's sit-poke". The bench has a truly Vologda character, sitting on it, you are convinced of the creativity of the Vologda masters.

The journey ends

A lot of interesting and unexplored, many secrets and mysteries are stored in Russia. Not without reason in Europe it is considered a real success and the beginning of an incredible adventure journey into the Russian hinterland.
