Why is a rabbit breed a ram lop-eared?

Do you know that all the domestic rabbits originated from one common ancestor - a European wild rabbit? At the moment, it is found in Western Europe and in the countries surrounding the Mediterranean. A man domesticated a wild rabbit. He tried to breed in various conditions of detention: they fed in different ways, the selection was also different. As a result, man managed to create a multitude of cultural animal species.

Of course, in the eighth century, domestic rabbits were of the same color as wild ones. But among them brownish, yellow, blue, white and black specimens already began to occur. Color changed as a result of mutation. And then the animals developed significant differences in the live weight, hair type and length of the ears.

I wonder how the rabbit looks like a sheep? A common feature of this species are long, drooping ears and a horn-nosed "lamb" head. This breed is characterized by a dense physique. But there are exceptions: for an English ram, for example, the body is long and slender.

Decorative rabbit breeds were bred by breeders exclusively for domestic maintenance. Dwarf rocks are now very many. But lop-eared animals use special love in children and adults. They have funny little hanging ears. In fact, rabbits breed the lop-eared ram like tiny touching lambs.

For this breed ideal weight is from 1300 to 2000 grams. These cute crumbs have a tight, "compact" body with rounded hips, short neck and thick, strong legs. A broad forehead and flattened cheeks are located on the flattened muzzle. And, of course, the rabbit of the ram breed has long ears, which delight the owners of the furry pets. On average, the length of his ears varies from 24 to 28 cm. Such a rabbit lives for about 14 years.

The lop-eared rabbit of the ram breed is distinguished by its peace-loving character and unflattering temper. These animals are friendly, very playful and funny. But the females are more sociable and energetic than males.

A rabbit breed of French sheep were bred in 1850. It was believed that they originated from the crossing of German giants with lop-eared rabbits. As a result, a large-sized lop-eared lamb appeared. French rabbits are found mainly in agouti. They are a great breed. This species also has a beautiful fur.

French sheep are friendly enough and calm. But they are not suitable for living next to young children. This animal is large in size. Its minimum weight is 5 kg, and the maximum is still not installed. It requires too much space for movement. Such rodents are unsuitable for cellular maintenance, but can perfectly live in the house as a pet.

A domestic rabbit of the ram breed has been known to people for several hundred years. With two or one drooping ears, it is represented on old images. Charles Darwin in 1858 described the lop-eared rabbits. He wrote that the animal needs ears to catch the sound or its direction. But under the patronage of people rabbits stop using this body. And this sign with each generation is increasing.
