Where not to hide money: places that all thieves know about

Many people, for various reasons, decide to keep money at home, and not in the bank. Are you one of those who keep their savings for a rainy day under the mattress? If so, it is worth remembering that keeping cash in the house is not always safe. The next time you choose where to hide money, give up the idea of leaving them in the places that will be discussed later.

1. In the yard

Have you decided to hide money in the yard of your house? Unfortunately, this is a bad idea, and for that there are several reasons:

• Neighbors can see how you are digging in money;
• If you have a puppy who likes to dig the ground, he can easily find them;
• In the land your savings for a rainy day can not survive the next rain.

2. Under the mattress

The money hidden under the mattress has become classics, but you should not think that they will be safe there simply because you are sleeping on them. If thieves get into the house during your absence, they will check this place first.

3. In packages

Perhaps thieves will not look for your savings in random packages, but they can pay attention to them if they need somehow to take out all the loot. You do not want to leave another pleasant surprise for them, do you?

4. In old wallets and bags

Do not store cash in old wallets and bags. Even if you do not use them anymore, this does not mean that your money will be safe there.

5. In laundry baskets

You might think that keeping your savings in a basket for dirty laundry is a good idea, because no one will want to touch it. Nevertheless, thieves can use them to take stolen things out of the house, so there is a big risk that the laundry baskets will attract their attention.

6. Behind a picture or a photo in a frame

Another classic option. Do not doubt, thieves watch the same films as other people, so they will not hesitate to check such "cunning" places, even if it means that they will have to destroy your most precious memories.

7. In portable safes

It does not matter whether you have a small safe or a large one. It will be completely useless if thieves can stand it. Your savings will be safe only if the safe is screwed to something that is very difficult or impossible to endure (walls, floor, heavy and large furniture).

8. In drawers and cabinets

Neither drawers nor closed cabinets are suitable for storing money. Thieves, of course, will not come to rob your apartment empty-handed, they will certainly have screwdrivers or scraps, which can be opened locks. In addition, the first to be checked is the closed pieces of furniture.

Secure places

If now you are hiding money in one of the above-mentioned places, then you will need to come up with something new. We offer you several safe ideas:

• Put the money in a plastic bag and glue it to the bottom of the kitchen counter or, for example, boxes with your child's toys (the best option is to create a false bottom).
• Store the money in a waterproof container by placing it in one of the drawers of the refrigerator or freezer. Do not, of course, use containers with the inscription "Ice cream" or with any other goodies. Who knows, maybe thieves will decide to have something to eat.

• Hide your savings among buttons, threads and other sewing supplies. If thieves do not need to sew up something, most likely they will not be looking for money there.
• Hide the money in a pair of old shoes, shabby clothes or, perhaps, in an old computer that does not work. However, all these things should look like garbage, which you did not have time to throw.
