What color is copper? Copper and its alloys

What color is copper? It is a metal of red color. If a piece of copper is broken, a pink color can be seen at the fault site. Resists very high temperatures and begins to melt only at 1083 degrees Celsius. It also has a high density, which is 8.94 grams per cubic centimeter, which is much higher than that of other metals. Characterized by high and high-quality current conductivity. There may be several types: MOO, MO, M1, M2, M3.

Copper for roofing

Copper has long been used for the manufacture of roofing. Her beauty fascinates and rivets her gaze to herself. But when such types of metal as iron and aluminum appeared, then the use of copper for roofing significantly decreased. Now the architects revive its application in the construction of houses. No kind of metal gives such a shade what color copper is. Different halftone differences in the color scheme - one of its main advantages. Copper roofing, whose strength characteristics allow it to be used on buildings with a flat roof, can withstand a large mass of snow if it could not be cleaned immediately.

Interesting shades of copper

By the way, earlier, when there was no choice in copper coating, the usual yellow-shiny copper was used. Under it, it was impossible to choose the color image of the whole house, because after a few years it acquired a darker shade, becoming oxidized. Then, after a few more years, the dark color was replaced by a saturated malachite-green. Copper turned into a patinated type. From that moment the copper roof became inaccessible to corrosion and served for many years. To date, the steps of progress allowed the buyer to immediately choose what color copper he needed: oxidized, classic or patinated. The new direction in the construction was the production of the facades of houses made of copper. Usually for finishing the front of the house use aluminum sheets, painted in the required color. But the use of aluminum is unprofitable: first, from the economic point of view, and secondly, on the part of quality. Copper has a greater range of shades than paint for aluminum and, unlike it, does not fade.

Copper alloys

Metal plays a part in the production of alloys. Copper and its alloys can be of two types:

  • Bronze Alloy. It consists of the main component, that is, copper and impurities of other elements. Characterized by a high casting property, especially for complex shape parts. But the minus that the specialists are struggling with is the emerging microporosity of the general alloy, if there has been a use of tin. In general, bronze alloys have great strength and lack of corrosion.
  • Alloy of brass. It consists of the main component, that is, copper with an admixture of other elements. But another constant constituent of the brass alloy is zinc. Such material, strangely enough, has very high ductility and good thermal conductivity. Alloys with labeling A06 and A90 have these properties. If greater strength and lower cost is required, then alloys marked with L59, L60, L62 are used.

Copper hair

Girls who have their own copper hair color, shades can have from light to cognac. In addition, they are very beautiful. What color is copper and where does this color come from? Copper color is obtained in connection with a large amount of pheomilanin in hair follicles. Already a long time ago it is believed that the copper and red tinge have since birth only Scots and Irish. But with a frenzied pace of technology, this shade can now easily be obtained by purchasing hair dye. Cosmetic firms offer the most varied choice of hair dyes of different durability and tonal color.
